"Goodbye Blues," The Hush Sound
First Story: Solo
Song: "Intro"Lips curve upward
Following the soft lines
And full color
To the cheeks
Flushed with happiness
And the eyes
Creating a border
For the miles
Of warmth.
And for this moment
Frozen in time
All he can do
To ignore
The flames
The rubble
The screaming
Of his nightmares
The fruitless efforts
Of each day
Is to stare
At that face ,
Reminding him
Of carefree days
In the summer of youth
Hold those hands
That are cool as a Spring morning
And return those feelings
Projected out from that
Expression.
He falls through
Ivory
And ebony
Piano keys,
Onto the whirling carousel
Going backwards
To a funeral march
Aging him
And then forward
Towards the silence
And light.
He hangs on tightly
Knuckles white
Because, after all, it's
All he can do
To smile.
A/N: Yeah! A story! Sorry I've been so dead lately, and then I come up with this drivel. But I'd been planning this for a long, long time. With others CDs, but still. I got inspired by the new-ish Hush Sound CD Goodbye Blues, which I didn't really like at first.
But I'm a poet at heart, and though I'd planned to do stories for these, I was struck with this. I actually have three (!!) more that I wrote right along with this one. So be on the lookout. :)
Each poem centers around a different character, and no, I will never name them. I'll just tell you who I have in mind for these, but they can be whomever you wish to imagine. The guy here is (predictably) Danny, and the girl... is vague. I guess I had Sam in mind, but more of a friendship thing (since I don't like that pairing). But... let me know who else fits this bill. It'll be fun to see what you guys come up with. (And virtual cookies to whoever can guess what novel ref. I used here!)
