A/n: Ok, I know I said I would finish the original before starting the rewrite, but I just couldn't stand it anymore. If you didn't know, this is the rewrite of my Sailor Moon fanfic, The New Generation. There have been many alterations made, and it's much more well written. Enjoy the prologue!

Prologue:

Earth. The blue planet was as beautiful as he remembered it. Thirty years had passed since he'd last walked upon its surface, last gazed upon its green forests and shimmering oceans. Such a long time to go, without even the feel of a cool breeze playing on his face, rustling through his hair. But in thirty years, much had changed, and not only on Earth. He had changed. He had seen things mankind had only dreamed about, and some things they could never even hope to dream about. Yes, he was now the only person on this planet to know of these things, and he intended to put them to good use.

Why shouldn't he? Everything he once knew and loved on Earth was gone. The government had long proclaimed him dead, after the spaceship had blown up only 6 days after launching. The mission had failed, and all of their secretly trained astronauts were dead. They did not know, however, that he had not died, and the mission had not failed. In fact, it was more of a success than they ever could have hoped.

At first, he'd thought he was dead too, until he remembered what had happened. He had floated in space, alone and suffering a bleeding injury to the head. By some strange and good fortune, he had reached a black hole. It had sucked him, screaming and terrified, into its dark depths. Not until he finally awoke did he realize how much the gods had smiled on him, and it was there that he learned of the things that he now knew.

When he'd finally returned to Earth, excited and ready to burst with the information he would give his superiors, he had learned only that his beloved home planet had forgotten about him. The mission had been tossed aside like a piece of trash, and his wife...well, his wife was another story entirely. She believed he had died thirty years ago in a car crash while on a business trip. She had married another man, his younger brother of all people, and they now had three children--two daughters and a son.

What could he do? Even his beloved wife had forgotten him. She had betrayed him by marrying his brother, by forgetting their promise so long ago, that no matter what, their love would never die. Well, he had kept his promise, even during those long years away. And now he returned to find his beloved had discarded him, just as everyone else had. And so, his decision had been made.

He stopped at the shore of the ocean. The cool, foam tipped water lapped the sand at the edge of his feet. It was strong here. He fingered the blood red stone on his finger. This would be his only friend now, the only one he could trust. Yes, with this small stone, he would rule this hateful planet, and then they would all be sorry. He would make them pay.

He held out his hand to the blue ocean, letting the stone glisten darkly in the sunlight. At first, nothing changed. And then the waves began to grow fierce and wild, reaching far above him in height, and crashing on the shore with a shuddering thunder. Dark clouds covered the sky, hiding the sun. Bolts of lightning split the darkness. And it was done. The clouds and lightning faded away, and the waves calmed once again. For now, only he knew of the change. But soon, all of Earth would feel his wrath. It had begun.
