Prologue
Those hands were moving elegantly around as he explained their assignment. It was hard to explain. He almost did it lazily, as if he didn't care, and yet, all eyes went to them because they commanded the attention.
Oh, but he was probably the only one who has had thoughts of this. His lips would move sarcastically, it's almost ironic how those dark eyes were the ones who betrayed him. They would change emotions quickly. One moment, they would look at you as if you were scum on the bottom of his shoe, the next, they looked empty. But what broke Harry's heart was when one time, just one time mind, he saw a flicker of sadness go through those obsidian eyes. That's the day Harry began looking at him a different way. It had started with compassion, but somehow, it morphed to something more. Much more.
At one point of time, Harry went through depression and the one who pulled him out was Snape. Snape was the one who pushed him through his training, and he was the one who was with him on the day of Voldemort's downfall at the Hospital Wing.
When Harry had woken up he had finally admitted it to himself after weeks of denial. He was in love.
Alas, he knew in the bottom of his heart that it would never happen. He was a student once more and it was a) forbidden and b) very improvable that Snape would want a relationship with him.
Of course, the fact that he was engaged to Ginny didn't escape his mind. Ah well, he had to grin and bare it.
With that last thought, he became aware that they had been dismissed. He got up and left the class sadly. Oh, how he hated Mondays mornings.
He never saw Snape staring at him as he left, eyes missing the disdain they had once held.
