Buffy lightly shuts her door and slowly walks and sits down on her bed. I won't cry, it was for the best. Please god don't make me cry. Buffy takes a deep breath and puts her head in her hands. He had to leave. After the fire was put out at the school, Buffy did a semi patrol and then went home with mixed emotions. She always did patrol with Angel. What's so special about LA. I needed him. Buffy sniffed and realized she was crying. She rubs her eyes harshly and then lifts her head up to look in her mirror. Her eyebrows furrow together. What's that? She gets up and walks toward her mirror. There taped to it was a rather fat envelope with her name on it. In his handwriting. With slight eagerness Buffy opens it and lifts up a letter , and a blood red rose head. She smiles a little, and smells the rose. It smells like him. Buffy strokes the petals a little longer when finally she opens the letter, and is shocked. It's a poem…from him… With her jaw down only a little, she begins to read it.

It's the little things that matter,

When you whispered in my ear.

It was that special touch you gave me,

With every passing year.

When I felt ready to give up,

You were there standing tall.

If I kept you behind,

You wouldn't care at all.

We've been hand in hand,

From the beginning to the end.

Mysterious, dangerous, and beautiful,

But always there for your friends.

Gone was my pain,

When we were together.

Those frustrated fits,

Will make me laugh forever.

With every battle won,

You held you head high.

Making the world safe,

With a half hearted sigh.

Those three words you've said to me,

I'll always keep,

Just knowing and seeing you,

made my heart leap.

You once said to me,

That you had no choice.

I replied "would you have it any other way?",

In a lowered voice.

Since I've saw you in the dark,

I had to have you by my side,

I'll miss you Buffy,

Till the end of time.

I'm always yours,

from dusk till dawn.

Angel.

Buffy leans against the wall and slowly slides down to the floor. She reads it over and over again. Crying and smiling. Her heart mending and breaking. She can't tell if she's sad or overwhelmed. She lifts up the rose head and glows over it with joy. He still loves me…by God he still cares. Buffy wipes away the tears and unsteadily gets up. She carefully sets the rose on her dresser, and she reads the letter one more time as she walks to the other side of her room. She then slowly folds and sets it aside. Buffy opens her window and looks down at the street.

"I had to give you a better goodbye than that one."

"I know."

"I'll miss you Buffy."

"Me too."

Angel looks up at her for one final moment, then smirks. "Your always so beautiful." He takes a slight step back and gives her a gentlemanly bow. Buffy smiles and steps back from the window and does a small curtsy. Angel looks up at Buffy and she can see there is a tear running down his cheek.

"I love you." Then he swiftly turns and walks away, not giving Buffy a chance to respond. Buffy, watches him go, then closes her window. She turns around and leans against it looking at the letter. Then she walks to her bed and climbs into it, not bothering to change. Buffy turns off the light and stares at the rose on her dresser. "From Dusk till Dawn."
