"Is there a place where I can stick my scale? I know mom has one, but hers is never quite accurate."
Everyone knows their mother isn't in a hurry to shed her baby weight. Her scale is only gathering dirty tissues and empty toilet paper rolls.
"Dinner's almost ready," she says, grabbing her wrist, "Mom made your favorite."
