"If you don't give it to me, I WILL hurt you!" Holly hissed, circling Artemis' desk expertly. Artemis' study was the best place for a brawl, quiet, enclosed, no place to run. Holly grimaced. Artemis was about to set her off.
"Empty threats, Holly, empty threats," Artemis teased, on the other side of the desk, reacting to her movements. Artemis raised his hand over his head, holding something. A book. More specifically, Holly's diary.
"Give. It. To. Me. NOW!" Holly commanded.
"Ah, ah, now, no mesmerising, Holly!" Artemis lectured. "It's against the rules…"
Holly grinned. "Oh Arty," she rolled her eyes, "Have I EVER played by the rules before?" And with that, she promptly pounced over the deck, catching Artemis off guard and pulling them both to the floor. From then on, it was a power struggle.
The book flew out of Artemis' hands and onto the floor.
Holly scrambled to reach it, but Artemis managed to keep her down. They flipped and rolled on the old Tunisian carpet, grunting and groaning until Holly was sitting on Artemis' chest, Artemis squirming under her.
"Whacha gonna do now, Fowl?" she sneered.
"This," Artemis grunted, and flipped her over, holding her to the floor by her shoulders. Holly's mouth flew open.
"H-how… how did you do that?" she gasped.
"Raw power." Growled Artemis. Holly looked unconvinced. "And science." He admitted.
Holly pushed Artemis with everything she had. "This isn't… what's supposed to happen," Holly grunted, panting, "I have… ugh, no weaknesses…"
Artemis smirked and leaned closer to her. "Correction," she felt his hot breath on her neck, "I am your only weakness…" And he kisses her lips tenderly. Any thoughts of the diary went, "poof", right from her head. She deepened the kiss and Artemis' muscles relaxed. Holly held his waist and rolled him slightly. He fell mindlessly to one side and Holly rolled on top. She broke the kiss and brushed her lips against his pale neck.
"I win…" she whispered.
Artemis took her head in his hands and guided her lips back to his. "No darling… I do believe, I win…" and he kissed her again, leaving her light headed, but happy.
They didn't hear the door creak open. They didn't hear the gasp. But they did hear Juliet laughing and yelling "Artemis!"
Artemis' head fell back and Holly looked up so they could both see Juliet, Artemis, albeit, upside-down.
Juliet was laughing. "I bring you ice tea," she held up the glasses, "and walk in on a make out session!" Artemis lifted Holly off of him and got onto his knees.
"Juliet…" he warned.
"I'm gonna go tell Buuuuutlerrrr!" she said in a sing song voice, and started to rip down the hallway, spilling ice tea and screaming, "Butler, Butler, Butler, I have something to tell you!"
Artemis ran after her faster than Holly though he could.
She could still hear their conversation, echoing down several halls.
"Juliet we were just wrestling!"
"With your lips, Arty?" More laughter.
"Yes, Juliet! And don't call me Arty!"
Holly smiled, scooping up her diary and sliding it into her pocket. Artemis looked very incriminating, her lipstick on his mouth and neck. She thought about what he had said.
He is my only weakness, Holly thought. The best darn weakness an elf could ever have.
