A/N: JKR owns the characters, I'm simply borrowing them. I absolutely adore Sirius, but thought it'd be fun to write him in a cocky way. This one-shot was written for the HP Potions Comp-Bundimun Pomade. Enjoy!
Sirius checked himself over in the mirror. He brought his hand up, ruffling the black hair perfectly.
"You look like you just woke up," James said, looking at his friend with a concerned look on his face.
"Brilliant, that's the style," Sirius replied, focusing on his reflection once more.
Remus arched his eyebrow, shaking his head. "You want to look like a slob?"
He sent a glare towards the werewolf before focusing on himself once more. The others… they didn't understand. He was Sirius Black, and no matter what he looked like, the ladies would be all over him.
Hell, even Professor McGonagall had it soft for him.
He smiled, looking at his dazzling white teeth.
"I think his hair looks nice," Peter piped up, looking at the others nervously.
"Thanks, Peter, but no one likes a suck up," Sirius said coolly. "Well, I'm off," he announced to the others, waiting for them to ask him where he was going.
When no one looked up from their homework, Sirius frowned. Weren't they interested in where he was going? A lone Marauder was going out, and the others didn't even care? What sort of world was he in!
"Hello? Don't any of you want to know where I'm going?" he asked, disbelief in his voice.
Remus sighed. "Not really. N.E.W.T.s are next week, and we're all busy studying, unlike you."
"I don't need to study," he replied, smirking.
"We'll see about that," James muttered.
"But to make you happy, Sirius, where are you going?" Remus asked, looking at him. Sirius meant well, but sometimes he was just so damn vain he'd lose sight of everyone else.
"I'm going to ask Marlene out," Sirius said, grinning wildly.
James put his quill down, straightening up. "You just asked her out last week and she said no. Why do you think she changed her mind?"
"Because I'm Sirius Black. She didn't really mean no when she said it," he explained, oblivious to his friends snickering.
"Oh, right," James said with an eye roll. "Carry on then." He waved his hands in a shooing motion.
"See you," Sirius mumbled, exiting their bedroom. Making his way to the common room, he smirked when he saw Marlene sitting by the fireplace. "Perfect."
Sitting down, he casually draped his arm over her shoulder. "Hey, Marnie."
Marlene sighed, shifting her shoulders to escape his arm. "Don't call me that, Sirius."
He ignored her. "So, are we going to Hogsmeade this weekend? I was thinking we could go for a walk-"
"No," she said abruptly, sending him a glare. "We're not going out, Sirius."
His mouth dropped open, staring at her in disbelief. "What? What do you mean we're not going out?"
"Because we're not," Marlene replied, picking her book back up.
Sirius grabbed her book from her hand, putting it down on the table. "Why not, Marlene?"
"Because, Sirius, you're so cocky! You seriously expect women to just fall all over you, and while many of them do, I'm not that sort of hussy! I demand respect from those I date, Sirius, and I really doubt you'd give me much of that," she ranted at him, her chest now heaving and her brown hair slightly out of place.
Sirius was awestruck. "You're so beautiful when you're mad," he whispered, moving forward to gently touch her face.
Marlene let out an exasperated sigh. "Why don't you grow up a bit, Sirius, and then we can talk." Grabbing her book, she stormed away in a huff.
Sirius smirked to himself, getting comfortable on the couch. "That went well," he said, smiling. She'd come around, look at James and Lily. Persistence is what girls want.
Marlene wouldn't be able to resist the Black charm for much longer, he was sure of it.
