BANG…...BANG…...BANG
I felt my ear twitch as I slowly gave myself back to the world. I growled silently at myself for my sensitive ears as the loud sound continued abruptly. Who would be making that racket at this time of night?! I slowly got myself to bury under my pillow, trying to muffle the sound as best as I could. I was enjoying my dream. Well, I think I was. I don't recall what it was mainly about. Something about Sonic becoming a sheep and laughing maniacally at it. I felt warmth in my chest as I felt my lips curl into a smile. It was extremely funny. I felt my ears perk up as silence filled the air. Did it finally stop? I felt relief as I let myself slowly succumb to the welcoming arms of sleep. I wonder what that was but I guess I'll find out in the morning. Slowly feeling my body fade away, I felt my ears drop and that was that.
BANG….BANGBANGBANGBANG
I jumped up faster than I thought Sonic could run. I stared at the darkness as the rapid sounds erupted from downstairs. I felt annoyance grow in my mind as my body protest from me slowly getting out of bed. Whoever that was is gonna have a really bad night. I glared at the brightness of the alarm clock as the bright green numbers read 3:20 A.M. I hate waking up at 3….especially at 3. Feeling my twin tails hit the floor, I slowly walked to my bedroom door.
"I'm coming. I'm coming." I tried to shout in annoyance.
I heard the soft click of the doorknob as it turned and walked out of my room. Looking down the stairs, I found nothing disturbed. My ears perked up at the sound of clicking near my kitchen and I peeked over the railing to the hall. Curiosity filled me. None of the things I have created made that sound of clicking. Especially this one. This clicking sounded more like a gun slowly cocking but which a crank then a pull back. An odd metaphor but in my tired mind, it makes sense. Ignoring the tightness in my throat, I felt the words jumble out.
"I-Is someone t-th-ere?" I stuttered out with fear dripping off almost like venom.
I heard a soft rumble before the eerie silence fill the air. I forced my knees to slowly make their way down each step, feeling my balance quickly become off from my rapid shaking. My fur just kept rising from the silence. It felt painful. The fear was slowly scratching at my back, making each strain of fur scream in agony. Finally reaching the bottom, I turned to look down the dark hallway. I'm so glad I am a fox because of the night vision I was blessed with. Still surprised that Sonic and Knuckles weren't aware of it. Anger stabbed me like a needle. If this was those two, I swear I'm going to kill them. Their constant pranks the past few weeks were already reaching my limit of patience.
"Sonic! Knuckles! I swear if it's you two, you're gonna get it! It's too early for this…" I muttered to myself at the end.
Warning signals went off in my head. Quickly turning around, I found myself staring right at a dark forest green orb. I stared at it, slowly connecting the armor it was attached too. No. NO. NONONONONONONONO! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! HE DIED! HE DIED WITH HER! HOW IS HE ALIVE?! I looked up at the soulless helmet and found my eyes burning. I screamed as loud as my voice box would even give before pain filled my body. I quickly looked down, seeing my white fur turn crimson. My heartbeat pounded in my head as I found the red drooling out of my mouth. I felt something remove from my chest and darkness took over, only hearing the fading laughter. Sonic, where are you? You were suppose to protect me, big brother?
