"Don't be out too late Gaara." The young redhead heard his father call out to him from the couch.
"Yes father!" Gaara called back as he ran towards the blond boy waiting for Gaara.
The redhead ran over to Naruto and the blonde embraced him. A giddy look was across the blonde boy's expression and seemed to snicker. "C'mon Gaara! We're gonna go play on the playground! I managed to sneak out before mom could catch me."
Gaara rolled his eyes at the blue eyed boy and then guided the loud blond outside. "I hope that your mother doesn't find us then. I'll tell her it's your fault."
Naruto gave the redhead a pout. "Awww, Gaara, don't be like that…we won't get in trouble."
Gaara lead the blonde boy down the street, past all the merchants who were starting to close their shops. The two boys waved at the merchants as they went by, but Naruto also stuck out his tongue at some of them as they went. Some the merchants just rolled their eyes or started to throw curses at the blonde boy. Naruto just laughed it off while Gaara started to chuckle.
They came upon the playground, finding it with only a couple of kids playing around on them. Gaara lead Naruto over to the swings and the blonde hopped onto one of the seats. "Push me Gaara! I want to fly in the sky!"
"Alright alright." Gaara chuckled and as he started to push Naruto and the swing.
Naruto started to soar up into the air and was laughing loudly. Gaara pushed him with a smile and continued to do so until the blonde was high enough. The redhead moved out of the way and watched his friend swing.
"Alright Gaara! I'm going to jump now!" Naruto announced as he swung higher.
Gaara's eyes grew wide in shock and he looked up at the blonde worriedly. "I-I don't know about this Naru-Naruto…! Be-Be careful!"
Naruto chuckled and then cried out. "Don't worry about me! I'll be fine! Here I go!"
The blonde then let go of the swing and started to fly off. He was letting out a cry of joy and shouting as he flew through the air. It was then that Gaara realized Naruto wasn't going to land on his feet. Instinctively, Gaara quickly sent out his sand and a pile of sand quickly caught Naruto before he could land on his face.
Gaara let out a sigh of relief while Naruto sat up, raising his arms into the air. "Hell yeah! That was awesome! Good catch Gaara!"
Gaara chuckled and rolled his eyes. In a perfect world, this was something Gaara truly desired.
