~Prologue~
Down a dark, forsaken street, a petite blonde girl genin around the age of 16 returned to her home after a long day.
Her name was Ema, and she was incredibly tired having just completed three grueling missions in only one day. Slowly, she stepped up the stairs to her musty old house. She grasped the rusting iron railing because she was so exhausted that she couldn't climb the steps on her own strength.
Sighing, Ema inserted her key in the small lock located squarely below the aging bronze door handle. After hearing the barely audible click of the tumblers unlocking, she grabbed the handle and twisted it to the right. Ema then proceeded to push the ancient, creaky, wooden door within the depth of her humble abode.
She groped into her house, her feet thudding on the cold, hard floor. Only when Ema squinted could she see parts of the house that were dimly lit by silver moonlight which was streaming through the dusty windows. After removing her worn, mud caked leather boots; she set them down and closed the door gently behind her. Ema meandered over to the worn out carpet and scuffled to the wall where her light switch was.
She quickly flicked it up with her fingernail. Sensing something, she whirled around swiftly and saw him.
"You!!"
The man clamped her mouth shut with one hand, but Ema still managed to scream, "Let me go!"
"Oh, it's too late for that. You know too much, and you are a liability," her attacker whispered icily to her. "Wha--?" Ema said, but she never finished that sentence. She felt a sharp pain in her back, and then nothing.
Ema collapsed on the floor, dead. A blood puddle began to form.
The attacker smiled, looking at the corpse, and stalked off.
