Chapter 0 – Awakened
For a long, long time, all I could remember was the darkness. Darkness reigned the place where I was. There was nothing else. I was asleep all the time, or maybe I was half asleep. I'm not really sure myself. But I knew I hated this dark void of nothingness I was in. I always wonder when I will be able to get out of this prison. I can't remember anything about myself. Do I really exist? Or am I just part of the darkness? I can't see myself, so I don't know. And it was one day, when I was once again having these thoughts, that something extraordinary happened to me.
The darkness around me cracked. I could hear it. I could feel it. I wondered what was happening. Had my wish of leaving this place come true? The darkness around me continued to crack into many parts, and something white and extremely blinding seeped through those cracks. As same with the darkness, I couldn't see through the blinding white. The blinding white started to envelope the darkness, and me. I feel a burning sensation spreading through my body. It hurt a lot. A lot. At the same time, I felt myself getting pulled by a force towards something. Where was I headed to? Is there even an end? But I was sick of the darkness, so I willingly allowed the force to pull me to its destination. I just waited, waited for something to happen. Then, I fell.
I was on top of something soft. My eyes were still burning from the blinding white, and I couldn't really move myself. Whatever was below me moved and made a noise. What's that? I tried opening my eyes, but it hurt so I shut them again. Whatever's below me pushed me, and I fell onto something hard. Ouch. My body hurts. A weird sound escaped my mouth. Something touched me, something thin and bony. I made a little noise, and that something disappeared. But a few moments, it touched me again.
"…." I heard a voice, but I didn't know what it was saying.
"…A…re you dead?" This time, I understood. I felt it shift closer to me.
I tried opening my eyes again. This time, it only hurt a little. At first, everything in front of me was spinning and shaking, but after a while, I could see clearer. In front of me was something…a human. A human girl. I didn't know what's that, but the word just came into my mind. I stared at her as she looked away from me. "What?" She asked.
I tried moving my mouth. "Y…you…" I tried to speak. She looked at me and shifted closer.
"You look ugly." I gasped. The human girl's face widened before her face changed into something scary. Then, I felt great pain in my stomach, and the air inside of me suddenly disappeared. I then went back into the darkness I hated once again.
