Hey! This is my first story, so yeah! I have been raving about it at school and I've finally decided to write it! Here we go! By the way I'm mixing the Broadway version with the movie version :-)! P.S. the italicized words are from the Sweeney Todd soundtrack, music and lyrics by Stephan Sondheim, Book by Hugh Wheeler
Even though my harmonium was playing very loudly I could still hear the Beadle's screams.
I then heard, "Mrs. Lovett! Mrs. Lovett let me out!" OH NO! TOBY! I left him in the bake house and now the Beadle's body was down there bleeding like crazy! I hope Mr. T gets down here soon
"It's done!" yelled Mr. T as he entered the room. His arm was covered in the Beadles blood. "Mr. T! Toby's in the bake house 'e saw the body! He's screaming his bloody 'ead off! Please don't Mr. T" I said remembering his promise that if Toby found out he would kill him.
"But he knows! We have to." He yelled and with that stormed out the front door. I followed him because I had the key to the bake house.
We walked down the stairs to the bake house, I reached down into my corset to the key and I unlocked the door. As it creaked open we were welcomed to the smell of dough and rotting flesh. "Nellie," he looked around the bake house "Where is 'e?"
Even though we were supposed to be looking for Toby my eyes kept staring at the Beadle's corpse, his head was nearly cracked open and blood was pouring everywhere. Then I saw something move beneath the sewer grate and I saw a pair of sad looking eyes staring at me. It then occurred to me, it was Toby. I had to lead Mr. T off in the wrong direction so he wouldn't find him, "The sewers, 'e's prob'ly 'idein' in them sewers" I crossed the room stepping over the Beadle's corpse and into the puddle of blood forming around his neck. I opened the door into the sewers "Toby where are you love? where is 'e?" I asked Mr. T, trying to be as realistic as possible, Toby must be half scared to death by now
"Toby, Toby?" he said into the darkness of the sewers
"Nothin's gonna' harm you, not while I'm around, Nothin's gonna harm you Toby, not while I'm around," I sang remembering the song he sang to me earlier that night "Where are you hiding?" I called. My voice echoed across the walls, "Mr. T, if we get 'em you'll have ta," I drew a line across my throat with my finger, "So where is your razor?" I said, with him being gone I'll be able to find Toby and run away with him even though it means leaving my love.
"Mrs. Lovett keep looking for the boy, and if you find him keep him here while I get my razors." With that he left slamming the door behind him.
I waited to hear him reach the top of the steps before I ran over to the sewer grate and pulled it up "Mum!" he cried with joy, "Why are ya' doin' this with Mr. Todd?"
"Well love," I said, "While Mr. T was down in bloody Australia, his wife was raped by Judge Turpin, and she poisoned 'erself. She's alive dear, but Mr. T doesn't know that, I love 'em Toby, 'e thinks she's dead and I haven't told 'em that she's the crazy Beggar Woman, who hangs around our store."
"Oh," he said meekly "So he wants to kill the Judge, mum?"
"Yes my dear,"
"Mum?" he said, "Can we leave this horrid place?" tears were flowing out of his puppy dog eyes
"Yes dear," I said not knowing what it would be like without Mr. T for years to come, it was then when I heard creaking on the stairs, "Oh god," I whispered.
Ok, I hope you liked it chapter two is on the way and be prepared for BLOOD!
LEADINGPLAYER32 OUT!
