Chapter One: As With Many A Great Tale, It Begins in a Dream
The edges of the world were blurry, obscured in a foreboding darkness. Only one source of light remained. Surrounded by a ring of flame, a shining sword fought back the darkness. It was wielded by a green clad figure, who fought for his life against a raging beast. He was not alone, the figure. With him fought others, but their details could not be discerned. Their very essence seemed to flicker, as if their existence was uncertain.
The figure in green was completely focused on the beast, his determination could be felt in the light that shone from his blade and the golden mark on his hand. So focused he was, that he fell for a feint the beast made towards him, using the opportunity to swipe at the figure behind him. The figure fell with a scream, and the green figure fell to his knees.
Navi awoke with a start, clutching her heart. The dream was surprisingly vivid, and she felt pain where the mysterious figure had been struck. She idly glanced to the sky and noticed the sun hanging directly overhead. She jumped up from the stump she'd been laying on with a start.
"I'm Late!" She shouted, flying off in the direction of the Kokiri village.
Griffin stared at the ceiling texture, not quite knowing how long he'd been asleep. Turning over and looking across the room, he could see his brother had already left. Sighing, he threw his sheet off and laid his feet on the cold floor. Getting up, he looked at the mirror positioned above the table that separated the two brother's beds. His curly brown hair hung tangled from the top of his head, slightly obscuring his eyes. He sighed, tussled his own hair, looked at his own reflection, and nodded.
He put on the set of robes neatly laid at the foot of his bed and sighed once again. He didn't really care about wearing "fresh" clothing, but it was expected of him. If it was up to him, he would probably wear one set of clothes until he outgrew them. He was just that type of person.
Griffin opened the door, ready to go face another monotonous day.
Hello! I'm re-writing what I made, as I made it over a year ago and my writing was horrible. I'm lucky I only made a few thousand words, or I'd have my work cut out for me. Leave a review, feedback and pure, utter boredom is all that makes me write!
