Jetfire lay restless in his bed, tossing back and forth. His optics refused to close. He had tried every possible pose and method to fall asleep, but nothing worked. Jetfire sat up and hugged his knees. He knew full well why he couldn't get to sleep. Jetfire longed for his brother to be in bed right beside him, but they had been separated. Sentinel Prime had separated them for the night, as punishment for failing to secure an artifact.

Jetfire clenched his chest which was infected with a horrible feeling that he always got when separated from his twin. Jetfire hated being away from Jetstorm. He wished he could go to him, but the doors had been locked from the outside. Jetfire felt cut off from the world, without his brother.

Jetfire shuffled out of bed and walked over to the wall that separated their rooms. He crouched down and gave the wall a light knock. About two minutes passed. Jetfire was about to go back to bed, when he heard a small knock come from the other side.

Jetfire immediately responded with two quick knocks. The two of them had invented there own morse code to communicate with when they were punished.

"Hey brother."

"Hey brother."

"I am not able to sleep."

"Me either Jetfire."

"I can't take these punishments."

"It will be over before you know it."

Jetstorm could hear quite well through the thin wall. His brothers next knock sounded weaker, and it slumped down the wall. Jetstorm placed his audio receptor to the wall. He could just make out the sound of Jetfire crying. Jetstorm's spark sank, he hated hearing his twin cry.

Jetstorm knocked again, "please don't cry brother."

Jetfire didn't respond. Jetstorm stood up, walked over, and banged hard on his door.

He kept going till Sentinel Prime finally opened, "what is it glitch?"

"Let me in my brother's room."

"No way glitch, you two need to be punished for screwing up."

"Then I will keep banging on this door all night."

Sentinel Prime scowled. He finally gave in and unlocked Jetfire's door, then stomped away grunting.

Jetstorm grinned as he entered Jetfire's room. Jetfire looked up, joy filling up inside his at the sight of his twin.

"Jetstorm!" Jetfire tackled his twin in a hug.

Tears of joy slipped down Jetfire's face. Jetstorm gave his brother a small squeeze and led him back to bed. They both snuggled in close together. The horrible feeling had faded and been replaced with warmth. The two of them smiled as they drifted off to sleep.
