A/N: Kim and Ron have been together for a while, but recently he's been unintentionally ignoring her. She can't seem to let him know that she gets hurt when he constantly chooses computer games over time with her. They're on spring break, and she hasn't seen Ron in a week.
Kim: so what have you been up to over break so far? I haven't seen you much
Not like he's called. I know he had a bunch of homework the days right before break… maybe he's had youth group stuff or…
Ron: playing a lot of computer games, just kinda hanging out
Kim: busy busy
Too busy to call, obviously.
Ron: haha yeah
Kim sat at the computer with tears in her eyes, thinking about the nights that she had spent waiting for him to call her. She was extremely angry and very hurt. I'm glad that the stuff that has prevented you from calling is so important. I know that nothing could stop you from spending time with your girlfriend – to whom you haven't talked in a week – except something that's a life-or-death matter! Good job. Great work. You have one happy, satisfied girlfriend here. Man, those computer games sure are meaningful! Dang, must have been hard work to stay up PAST FREAKIN MIDNIGHT. I know you can't talk to me past 10:30 so you can go to bed, but oh those computer games!!! Worth staying up ALL NIGHT for, obviously!!! This was such a hard week and you couldn't even call.
The tears started streaming down Kim's cheeks and she got angrier.
Ron: sorry for ignoring you so much
Kim: when?
Ron: idk. This week, month, year, whenever. I keep forgetting that the best thing that's happened to me is right in front of my eyes.
Yeah, you're sweet sometimes. But you don't always do what you say. You could call me once in a while! I'm so hurt, Ron. Can't you see that? It's Sunday. You haven't called me since Wednesday. No, IM doesn't count. And talking at the same time as you're talking to other people or doing other things or for a very short amount of time? Not good enough! Try carrying through when you say you'll call!
Ron: you're not very talkative. Busy?
Kim: no
Ron: oh. Um I guess I have to go shower. Bye.
Kim: bye
Ron: love you
Yeah, whatever. Cause you show that well.
Kim: love you too
Not like I can't say that. 1) I guess I'm not quite that heartless, even when my heart is this hurt, and 2) he'd demand to know what was wrong and I don't feel like talking. When somebody that close has missed out on an entire week of your life, especially when it's been such an emotionally eventful one, you can't really just up and have a deep conversation. Thanks for 4 days of depression.
