The demons surrounding an odd bunch known throughout the Feudal Era; enduring many hardships and suffering mental as well as physical injuries during their journey for a cursed object while rarely let themselves live their lives as the Final Battle with Naraku lingers to the forefront of their minds. But, they happened upon a situation that only worsens with time. The young kitsune's overwhelming determination and fierce protectiveness over his mother was no match for their greed. His mother in critical condition and minor injuries to his own person, and a slayer and monk with a few of their own demon inflicted wounds. The demon slayer and monk battling it out until the very end. It wasn't a great sight.
If you paid attention very closely to what I was saying and realized exactly what puzzle was missing from scene before I reveal the answer. I shall congratulate you. Where is the hanyou? Had he abandoned them to their fate? As the corpses covering both; the young kit and his mother from sight remain still in what seemed like dull silence. Blood coating their clothes and coloring the grass beneath them in its awful crimson as the sunlight filters through the minty-green leaves as wolves howl with sorrow over lost souls.
The two participants? Kagome and Shippo. Our dear miko and her son as the only survivors of this inevitable slaughter, wishing and pleading with all their might as tears stream down their pale cheeks in complete silence that it was all a horrible dream. That…Sango and Miroku were smiling while the demon slayer slaps the monk for his lecherous ways. They knew the truth. They're dead. And, a certain Taiyoukai isn't anywhere near or close enough to their encampment. Also, Inuyasha nowhere to be seen. The miko and kitsune preferring each other's comfort since this will be a rather long and unfavorable night until the hanyou's return.

TheMindFulSiren: Rather a really short prologue. I prefer making a plot idea known on the net than leaving it forgotten in my notebook.
