"Emotions are fickle. Sometimes they lead us to greatness. Other times, they lead us to ruin. How easily manipulated and swayed we are by our emotions. Those who protest this fact the loudest are often the ones most prone to this fact. How ironic."

Dawn of a New Day

As the sun broke the horizon on the desert world of Tattooine, a young Jedi Knight stood unmoving atop a tall cliff. Behind him, sitting against a rock, was an older Jedi. As the first Jedi watched the sunrise, a single tear rolled down his cheek. "We have at last come to the end, Master," he said to the other Jedi as he wiped his tear away. His Master did not reply, but merely stared straight forward at him. "I was hoping that this day would never come, but it has. I know what has to come next, but I'm afraid. Isn't it funny how something we so long for can terrify us so? Still, it will be a relief when it is all over. It seems an eternity since this whole thing began. It's getting harder and harder to remember life before this. You probably find it amusing that I, in some way, wish none of this had ever happened. But it has. There is no turning away now, Master. This story can only end here, now."

The other Jedi continued to stare at his former Apprentice in complete silence. Something about that silence was unnerving the young Jedi Knight. "Master?" continued the young Jedi almost desperately. "Have you nothing to say? Have you no advice to give? What should I do? I'm not strong enough to finish this on my own."

The young Jedi was on the verge of tears. With a sorrowful sigh, he sat down next to his Master. "How did we come to this point?" he asked his Master. "How did this all come to pass?"
