A/N- I didn't specify a particular regeneration so you can pick which Doctor you want it to be! 9, 10, 11, or future Doctor! It's like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure! Isn't that fun!

She had always heard stories of him from her mother. The man who had shown her the stars, the man who had destroyed a sun just to say goodbye, never a name, just a man. But to Gallifrey Jaqueline Tyler they sounded like just that, stories.

Now, as she sat beside her mother's bed she was hearing them for what would likely be the last time.

"Galli, I won't be here much longer, but all those things I've told you, about him. He will be back, I know he will. And when he does, tell him that he gave me a life that I would have never had, and I wouldn't have given anything to miss them. Take this, and when he comes give it to him." Rose handed her only daughter a small envelope with writing bright blue ink. She then leaned over and lightly kissed her daughter and lay back down.

With that, Rose took one last breath and peacefully drifted away. As she did, Galli could swear she heard singing, distant, haunting, and unearthly, but beautiful all the same. Tears running down her face she quietly stood up and left the room, looking back at her mother once more.

Years later, Gallifrey was sitting in the cemetery garden, out of sight, near where her mother was. She pulled out the sealed envelope that she had taken to carrying with her always. She stared at the neat handwriting, at the two words that she had read so many times "My Doctor."

Suddenly she heard a noise, slowly becoming louder, almost mechanical. She quickly hid behind the bushes and watched, wide eyed, as a large blue box materialized near her mother's grave.

Then, he stepped out. It was him, she knew it. He wasn't a story. He was here, and nothing could tell her he wasn't.

He looked around and slowly approached her mother's headstone, reached into his coat and pulled out a single, perfect, blue rose, the exact same color as the strange box. As he turned she noticed his face, it was shining with tears. If possible, Gallifrey became even more silent as she heard him whisper, almost inaudibly, five words.

"Rose Tyler, I love you."

As he stood there, tears running down his face, Gallifrey felt herself standing up and making her way next to him.

It wasn't long before he noticed her, turning to face her he said "You look just like her."

"But how do you know who I am?" She replied

"I've been watching, the whole time, Rose hasn't been alone, but I've never been able to come back."

"She wanted you to have this." Gallifrey said as she handed him the letter that she had come to know so well.

He opened it and she watched as a small grin played across his face.

He then spun around and walked back towards to blue box closing the door behind him. His head suddenly stuck out.

"Well, are you coming?"

His head disappeared and the light began to flash, she began running and stepped into the box to see him running around fiddling with an infinite amount of dials and levers.

As she stared around with her back against the door she quickly looked at him and could only make out five words at which he began to grin to himself muttering "Just like her mother, they always say it."

"It's bigger on the inside."
