A/N: This is my first time actually writing something like this, so it's going to start out rough. This chapter is the shortest of the chapters, and is just to focus on introducing our 6 main characters. Expect action in the next, and significantly longer chapter.

Staring at the computer, Grady let out a sigh. "Crap, I stayed up past my curfew. My mom's gonna kill me!" he thought to himself. As soon as he pushed away from his desk, he heard a sudden thumping sound. Thinking it was his mom, he quickly darted onto his bed. His mom then stared into the room, looking to see that he was in bed. Satisfied that he was in bed, she closed the door and left him alone. Once his mom closed the door, Grady sat up and thought to himself, "I gotta curb that Minecraft addiction soon." Then, staring at the computer intently, he thought again, "Maybe later."

Matthew looked up from his computer, checking to make sure the teacher wasn't looking. He was supposed to be doing research, not playing Minecraft. Once he was assured that the teacher wasn't looking, he went back to playing. Matthew suddenly jumped as John prodded him with a pencil. "What the hell was that for, John?" Matthew asked, slightly irritated.

"Just letting you know that the teacher's coming," he replied. And as if on cue, the teacher was behind them, looking at their screens. He nervously looked at his computer screen, but to his relief, John had closed the Minecraft tab and replaced it with a Wikipedia page.

"I guess Minecraft will have to wait until I get home," Matthew muttered. John let out a quiet chuckle at his friend's irritation.

Nik sat down in front of the computer, sweating. Hauling coal was a hell of an exercise. Thankfully, he'd have the day for himself, so he decided to reward himself with some Minecraft. He began playing as usual, killing pigs, building bridges, and avoiding creepers. "It'd be nice for a change of pace." he chucked to himself. After this comment, he looked at his computer's clock. Great. He spent almost his whole day playing Minecraft. "Then again, I guess I deserve the break," he laughed.

Tom stared at the conversation window, waiting for Sergio to respond. "So, are you gonna be there for the PvP tourney tomorrow, Tom?" Sergio replied.

"You still haven't answered my question. Who else is going to be there?" Tom questioned.

"You, John, Nik, Matthew, Grady, and I will be there."

"Well, I don't know any of them."

"They're cool. You'll like them."

"Suuuure I will," Tom responded, laughing to himself. To express his irritation, Sergio sent Tom an emoticon depicting the base of the awesome face in a furious expression, appropriately titled "fgsfds".

"Well, I gotta go for now. See you later, I guess," Sergio typed before signing out. Tom closed the chat window and opened Minecraft. If he was going to face people he never met, he better train his "combat" skills, or at least whatever constitutes as combat in Minecraft.
