Wasn't quite sure what to post today so you guys get this. :)
AKA the one where Hades talks to fish.
Explanation at the bottom.
"Look at you," cooed the man, his voice husky and his eyes searching the waters below. "So beautiful. So... peaceful."
As he said this, one of the creatures in the water raced up to the surface. A ripple in the water was caused, but the creature was pushed back down into the depths. A high and eerie moan filled the air, followed by several more.
"Oh, don't despair. It will all be over soon..." the man smiled, and his hair became like fire, cold as ice and yet scorching hot at the touch.
Monster... came the whisper. He chuckled. "I am no monster," he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, "I am a god."
Hades
The word, the name, bounced off the walls of the cavern, like the echo of a word that was never there.
Hades grinned. "You have a strong will," he commented, staring at the wispy form of a human.
Your fault
Hades held a hand to his chest, feigning offense. "Me? Whatever did I do?"
The human-like shape slowly sunk away from the surface, zooming this way and that before joining the others in their endless roam. Hades smirked. "I thought not."
He squatted near the water, and reached out towards the water. As one, the watery shapes floated towards the top, once again creating ripples at the surface.
He smiled, a cruel, horrible smile as he looked upon them with nothing but contempt, disappointment. And perhaps pity, as well.
"You think you can escape? You think you can be found again? You poor, lost, imbeciles." Hades tsk-ed and straightened his legs.
The creatures sunk lower, dragging their newest companion with them. Hades shook his head slowly, turned, and walked away. There would never be hope for the lost.
Milah sunk from the surface, the cold hands of the other lost souls dragging her farther away from the light. She soon became disoriented.
Any more of this, and she would slowly lose her mind, her will to live. But, as her mind scrambled for answers, as she became lost in the ever-changing current, she smiled.
Maybe they would make it out alive. Maybe Emma and Rumple had rescued Hook, and maybe they were already on their way out, back to her grandchild, whom she knew existed, but knew nothing about.
Hades was wrong. Because, when Milah's last, hopeful thought spread to the other lost souls, the water seemed a little lighter on one end. Perhaps that was up. Perhaps they could find their way out.
Perhaps.
So, my thought process is, when a human(or dead person) joins the lost souls, they will keep their minds for a small amount of time, allowing them to speak small sentences that the other souls cannot hear, but Hades can.
Once that time period is over, their souls join the lost ones on their endless journey. Their final thought will spread to the other souls.
Let's pretend that everyone's last thought up until this point has been dark and doubtful, darkening the waters until it's nothing but a starless and moonless sky, sending all of the souls into an endless search for nothing.
Until Milah's final thought is hopeful, and that nothing becomes a single star.
That sentence was a complete English sentence, right? -_-
I don't own Once Upon a Time.
