Yo. You guys. Forgive me. Please. Oh please. I had to do this even if it made me sad. You see, whenever I listened to Predestination, my mind would wander and make up some tragic scene to go with it. And this happened. And I decided to attempt to write it down. Har, I apologize if it sucks. The whole situation wasn't really planned out. This is just focusing on the NaLu. Plus, I'm not good at writing sad stuff. *sad face*

Oh and this is dedicated to Mikaela (Fanfic is making me angry uhg don't even ask) even though I know it's going to make her very very sad. *heartheartheartheart*

Oh and if you wanna feel more feels, listen to Predestination while reading this.

The light was blinding. It swirled around Lucy, strong energy radiating off of it. She stood her ground despite the obviously fatal position she was in. A smile quirked up her lips just as the intense magic attack hit her. The scream she emitted was heart-breaking to say the least.

"Lucy!" Natsu yelled, stretching out a weak arm towards her; she was so close, yet so far away. If only he hadn't used up all his magic energy. He could be the one taking the hit and not her. In fact, he should be the one taking the hit! Lucy was going to get herself killed!

The magic faded, along with the blinding light, and left smoke and a beaten Lucy in its wake. She stared straight ahead; brown eyes glazed over and lost. Natsu raised himself up, attempting to get on his feet. Lucy began to sway and soon was falling slowly to the ground.

Struggling desperately, Natsu jumped up and forced his broken body to run towards her. Keep going… keep going, Natsu! Just as she was about to hit the rocky floor, his arms wrapped around her and he fell to his knees, huddling Lucy close to his chest.

As his breathing and heart rate lowered slightly, though it was still abnormally high, he gazed down at the blond celestial spirit mage in his arms. She looked no better than he did. Scratches covered her like a blanket, along with spots of accumulated blood. Her dark lashes contrasted with her skin, which seemed paler than usual – that couldn't be a good sign. On top of that, her breathing was ragged and shallow.

"Luce, hey – wake up, Lucy," Natsu said softly with the slightest disbelieving shake. No response. "God, what were you thinking? Wake up, would 'ya?" His voice was raising and his shaking was becoming stronger. "Lucy, come on!" An eye cracked open with a groan accompanying it.

Now both were half-lidded staring up at the fire dragon slayer with twinkles of amusement. "I was thinking that I could save you." He just glared at her. "Don't give me that look."

She winced in pain and smiled pathetically when it passed. Mustering up all remaining strength, she lifted a hand and placed it on Natsu's cheek. As it was about to fall back into her lap, he put his own hand over it and held it up.

Knowing she was fading, Lucy smiled wider. Tears formed in the corners of her eyes as she spoke softly, "Hey." Natsu nodded his head subtly. "I love you… Natsu."

His mouth hung open slightly and tears started to stream down his face. "I love you," he choked out, "Lucy." She leaned her head closer to his chest. A small smile hung in the air, though Natsu couldn't see it anymore.

They both remained silent – well, as close as it could come with a crying dragon slayer and a heavily breathing celestial spirit mage – until Lucy spoke again, almost inaudibly, "Thank you."

Feeling Lucy's hand tugging his head down, Natsu leaned over and didn't resist when she pressed her lips against his gently. The kiss was both of their firsts, but this seemed to hinder neither. Natsu pressed more firmly and began to move his lips in sync with hers.

He wanted the moment to stretch out forever, but Lucy pulled away. The small remaining effort she had to put in to holding up her hand diminished and the rising and falling of her chest was no longer visible.

"Luce," Natsu whispered, tears streaming down more heavily now. Despite not wanting to accept it, he knew exactly what happened to her and why her breathing disappeared. "Lucy!" he screamed, clinging to her as if his life depended on it – and it did.
