Hey guys sorry it has taken me so long to get started with writing again. I have just been having a wild past few months. I just got the game Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and I have to say that I was quite happy with the game. The only problem was that it was far too short and there were very few and mild plot twists. However ever since I saw Raiden in MGS4 I was absolutely in love with the character, who was ten times better than Raiden in MGS2. After Rising I had been playing with the idea of a Naruto-Metal Gear crossover and this is the result. The readers of my other stories will be happy to know that my short hiatus is coming to an end.

Enjoy the story.

P.S. I cannot believe nobody has done any post Rising stories yet.

Timeline: This is going to be set towards the beginning of Shippuden. And for any Die-Hard MGS fans keep in mind that I own an Xbox and as such haven't played MGS4. In addition I might have to twist a few things around in order for them to fit the story together. As for the MGS storyline, I am bringing in the whole family so keep in mind that I will be making up stuff. P.S.S. If you don't know anything about MGS and more importantly are not up to date with Raiden then you won't get what is going on.

It took twelve hours before the helicopter came for them. Twelve hours they lay there unable to do anything. Wolf had been heavily damaged and had put himself into Sleep mode until aid arrived, Raiden on the other hand had collapsed a few minutes after killing Senator Armstrong, the Murasama Blade still clutched tightly in his right hand.

It was twelve hours later that Raiden regained consciousness, wind and dust were being blown into his face by the constantly rotating blades of the helicopter's rotors. Despite his augmented optic he was still only able to make out the black blurry shape of the helicopter as it attempted to weave its way through the wreckage of what was once Metal Gear Excelsus.

As the shape grew larger one last thought crossed Raiden's mind before he sunk back into blissful oblivion.

Rose... I'm coming home.

Darkness.

Darkness surrounded me as it often does, no matter how hard I try to step into the light.

Voices, I could hear voices.

I was still alive.

"Doktor, how is he doing?"

Strong voice, deep, definitely Russian in origin.

"His body has sustained significant damage... to be quite frank it's a miracle that he's alive right now."

German, full of intelligence, familiar.

"Can you fix him?"

"Of course I can fix him! I created his body!"

"Relax tovarisch, I did not mean to offend."

"Has his family been informed?"

"They are already on their way, a nice surprise for him when he fully regains consciousness, eh?"

"Yes it should... strange."

"What is it Doktor?"

Footsteps coming closer, the sound of expensive shoes clapping against a floor made of metal. A distinctive sound.

"I thought that the monitor showed he was awake for a second, it must have been a mistake though it's all back to normal now."

The voices fade and silence accompanies my darkness once more, except for the pounding inside my head, the constant dull ache as Jack screams to be released, to be allowed to roam and hunt... to rip.

I let oblivion claim me once more and his voice too disappears.

"Jack"

light, a spot of light in the darkness

"Jack, wake up."

Raiden opened his eye, blinking as he adjusted to the sudden brightness of the room.

A young woman was leaning over him, smiling softly at him with tears gathering in her brown eyes.

Rose.

"Am I in heaven?" He croaked.

Rose laughed shakily, a few tears escaping her.

"Not quite yet." She whispered.

It looked as though she wanted to say more but she seemed to choke on her words before she ended up breaking down and sobbing onto his chest.

Raiden raised his right arm to stroke through his wife's soft, brown silken locks of hair while his other arm found her hand and intertwined them in an attempt to calm her down, enjoying the feel of her warm flesh to his cold metal.

"It's okay Rose...I'm okay." He whispered in her ear.

Her head shot up and she glared at him with angry tears streaming down her cheeks.

"What were you thinking! How could you do this to me, to John! You could have died!" She choked out angrily.

Raiden looked off to the side so that he wouldn't have to see the accusation in her eyes.

"I had no choice."

"What do you mean, of course you had a choice!" She snapped, forcibly turning his head to face her.

He didn't have the will to resist her.

"It was personal to me... The Ripper came back."

Her eyes grew wide in shock and her mouth formed a small 'O' shape.

"I had to do this not just for the sake of those kids... but to erase the last of Solidus's hold on me and make peace with my past."

He whispered softly to her, his voice filled with desperate need for her to understand.

Suddenly her lips were on his and he knew that she did, she was his Rose after all.

"Dad...?" A small voice called from behind Rose.

Rose stepped back, never letting go of his hand but still allowing him to see the owner of the voice.

His son, John stood there with a hopeful look on his face.

John was a perfect replica of what he looked like at eight years of age, of course his hair was kept down while his son's seemed to defy gravity.

"Dad, is it over?" He asked.

Raiden laughed shakily gesturing with his free hand for his son to come closer.

John tentatively took a seat on the bed next to his father.

Raiden ran his fingers through his son's hair much to his chagrin.

"Yes... I think that it's finally over."

It was a further two weeks before Raiden was allowed to leave his hospital room unsupervised. Raiden took the first opportunity available to look for all the friends he had made at Maverick in order to say goodbye. Boris had tried repeatedly to convince him to stay with them to no avail. Now he had only one more left on his small list, his robotic companion Wolf.

It took awhile but eventually he located him inside one of Doktor's labs.

A large room with a worktable filled with a computer and various papers scattered across the desk's wooden surface as well as an operating table in its centre.

It made Raiden shiver looking at it. He had spent too much time on that table.

It was an amusing sight to say the least. John was throwing a small rubber ball around and Wolf would then proceed to chase it for a while before finally bringing it back to Little John.

It seemed as though Doktor had been busy, all of the damage done to Wolf on their last mission had been repaired.

"Having fun?" Raiden asked as Wolf picked the ball up yet again.

"Dad, look at the cool doggie, can we keep him when we go?" Little John asked desperately, racing to his father and wrapping himself around his leg, looking up at him pleadingly.

Wolf froze for a second before facing him, allowing the ball to slip from his metallic jaws.

"Raiden... I did not see you there." He stated blandly.

"I noticed." He replied allowing a small smirk to form on his face.

"You are leaving?" Wolf asked him.

Raiden shrugged his shoulders, unable to shake off the small feeling of guilt as he did so.

"I'm tired of this life Wolf... My wife and I spoke about it and she thinks she knows someone who would be willing to give me a more... domestic job." He tried to explain to his robotic companion.

"What occupation?" Was the short response.

Raiden sighed and ran a hand through his hair tiredly.

"John, go find your mother, she's at the front desk and she's looking for you." He asked his son.

John looked at them both for a moment before taking his ball from Wolf's jaws, giving his dad's leg a quick hug causing Raiden to give a small smile before he left the room in search of his mother.

"I honestly don't know what I'm going to do Wolf. I will sweep streets if I have to, if it means I can put my past behind me." Raiden answered after a moment of silence.

"I find your desire to erase memories of your past puzzling. You would not be where you are today without your past." Wolf told him.

Raiden sighed again and leaned against the desk.

"I'm tired Wolf, I'm tired of fighting... I just want to live a quiet life with my family, let someone else be the fodder for all the shit in the world." He responded, a weariness of the soul reflected in his voice.

Raiden then noticed that Wolf had taken repossession of Sam's Murasama Blade, the hilt jutting out from its position on the AI's back.

He chose not to comment on it.

"When do you leave?"

"Now... I came to say goodbye you've...you've been a good friend." Raiden confessed moving away and to the door.

"I will walk with you... friend."

The simple response stopped him in his tracks.

Raiden didn't turn his head but a small nod was all the AI needed to pad alongside him.

"I wish to come with you."

Raiden raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

"Oh?"

"I too am no longer... content on the battlefield." Wolf admitted.

Raiden chuckled softly to himself.

"I have to say that you are without a doubt the most emotionally capable AI I have ever met."

"I assume that was a compliment."

"Take it as you will."

"... So will you accept my presence if I were to come with?"

Raiden grinned, an odd expression considering the lower half of his jaw was made entirely of metal.

"Oh John and I won't mind at all. It's my wife you'll need to convince."

Wolf tilted his head slightly in what Raiden assumed was confusion.

"She has a problem with me?"

"No... she's just allergic to dogs." Raiden walked faster when he heard the metallic growl emanating from the Bladewolf, yet the grin never left his face.

He met his family at the entrance to the building. Rose met his lone eye with a loving smile as she held their son's hand.

Looking past them he saw the taxi outside was already waiting impatiently to take them to the airport.

"What's your friend doing here, has he come to see you off?" She asked him after giving him a small kiss.

Raiden scratched the back of his head and did his best to give her his best smile.

"Actually I was wondering if he could come with us... it would mean someone else would be able to look after John when we're too busy and-." He began explaining until Rose put one of her fingers to his lips in order to silence him.

"I agree." She told him simply.

He looked at her in surprise but she had already shifted her attention to Wolf.

"Would you do the honor of living with us?" She asked him quietly.

Wolf gave a small dip of his head as a sign of his consent.

Slowly they made their way to the doors.

"Wait tovarisch." Came the voice laced with a thick Russian accent.

"Boris we've been over this already I-" Raiden's speech died in his throat as he was greeted with the sight of all of his team from Maverick standing in front of him.

Boris sent him a grin, whilst Kev, Courtney and Doktor sent him a small wave.

"Do you really think we could just say goodbye without giving you a goodbye present?" The Maverick Head joked.

It was then that Raiden noticed the item in Boris's hand.

"My sword... you fixed it?" Raiden asked rhetorically, seeing the handle of his high-frequency blade in the Russian's hand, sheathed in a sleek, black metallic case.

"We thought that you should have it... as a memento of all that we accomplished together."

Raiden felt at a loss of words.

Slowly he reached out and took the sheathed sword.

At this point Doktor decided to pitch in.

"I took the liberty of upgrading the blade to its maximum potential, you should be able to cut through the even the densest of materials like a hot knife through butter. I also took the opportunity to give it a more suitable scabbard, using battle data taken from your battle with Jetstream Sam I have housed a device inside the sheath which will allow for you to draw the blade at an even greater speed than before... assuming you ever have to use it again of course."

Raiden extended his hand and Boris took it firmly by the forearm.

"We had some good times, eh comrade." He told him jovially.

"We did indeed Boris and I cannot thank you enough." Raiden replied with a small amount of mirth present in his voice.

"Goodbye my friend."

Raiden felt content as he sat in the back of the taxi with his family.

Rose was leaning against his shoulder dozing as was Little John on his lap. Despite the fact that his hard cold cybernetic body was only covered by a simple brown leather overcoat, they both seemed comfortable.

There wasn't enough room for Wolf in the taxi so the AI had opted instead to run alongside the vehicle.

It's not as if Wolf can get tired anyway.

Raiden looked down at his sword laid at his feet.

It's going to be fun trying to get that through customs.

He laid his head back against the car seat and closed his good eye.

I finally feel at peace.

Following the taxi, several figures dressed in black flitted from rooftop to rooftop, mindful to avoid being seen by any who happened to gaze their way.

One of the figures stopped as the taxi began to pull into one of the drop-off points at the airport.

The others landed behind the leader and took up observation points revealing a total of twelve.

Each wore a blank white mask with a strange symbol engraved at the centre of the forehead.

The leader raised a hand to his right ear.

"This is Bobcat, we have eyes on the targets... commencing mission immediately, she won't get away from us this time."

OH NO!

A CLIFFHANGER!

Well you know what they say: In Fanfiction as with show-business always leave them wanting more.

(That's my subtle attempt at saying I hope I got you hooked on the idea of this story).

I must warn you I am more of a Naruto know-it-all than a Metal Gear nerd so the majority of the story will be taking place in the Narutoverse.

I would have started there but I wanted to set a scene.

Also this story is a prototype, this means that I will write and post the story but when I am done I will go back and fix mistakes and improve such as by adding more details. I will not be reposting the whole bloody story. It just means that some updates will be improvements of previous chapters.

Anyway reviews would be nice.

Reviews are cookies, and cookies need love just like everything does, including me.

See you guys next time!

Peace out!
