My review of Stop in the Name of Pants:
Well, I must say, I was very disappointed with this book. And there are several reasons.
First, Dave the Laugh. I have been waiting through seven long books now for he and Georgia to finally be together.
I mean, I get that Louise Rennison has to drag it out a little or the whole story would be over too fast. But I think now that it's just been too long to be waiting, when everyone knows that they'll probably end up together anyway.
I thought for sure that they would finally end up together in this book. I didn't even think it was possible to drag this plot line out any longer. I was very, very disappointed when the book ended and nothing had really happened.
Secondly, it really did feel like the plot went nowhere. I mean, what really happened during this book?
Angus got hurt. Yes, that was sad, but did anyone really think he wasn't going to make it?
Wet Lindsay and Robbie started going out again. But that doesn't really matter.
Masimo came back, but quite frankly, I strongly dislike him so this was actually bad news in my opinion.
And he and Dave almost had a fight near the end. But even then, nothing ended up happening!
I guess what I was really bothered by is, this is a very good series. Original, funny, and great for us teenagers.
BUT, it's starting to get old. The funny things about it are the way she talks, the nicknames she has for everyone, the way she talks about her parents. Only now that we've read nine books of this, it's not quite as funny as it was in books 1, 2, and 3.
What it needed to be as good as the others was something to happen that was really attention-grabbing. Or more Dave, which is what everyone really wanted.
Anyway, I was sad when I finished the book because I really love this series, and after waiting an entire year I had hoped for better.
What do the rest of you think? Review and tell me!
