Never have and never will own FMA and FMAB. Just not possible for me.
Today was an exciting day for all of Amestris for some apparent reason. Everyone was gathering together outside their homes or for the soldier's cases, at HQ to watch the upcoming fireworks. Tonight, however, these fireworks were to be set off by a certain Flame Alchemist. Roy Mustang readied himself for the oncoming event and slipped on his ignition gloves.
As Mustang quickly, but efficiently, paced down the halls to get to the roof, he bumped into a certain Fullmetal. "Fullmetal? What are you doing here?" Mustang questioned the young alchemist.
"What does it look like?" Edward snapped. He was obviously not in a pleasant mood at the moment. "I'm turning in a report!" Mustang sweatdropped and tumbled over to the side.
Regaining his composure, Mustang asked, "Why not watch the fireworks? You can turn in your report later. If you want, you boys can watch them from inside and not have to worry about the loud bangs…and possibly growing shorter from them." He currently didn't have the time to talk about this. He was in a slight hurry! But, he can't go a single day with Fullmetal being in town without having to tease him on his height….heheheh…
A giant tick mark appeared on Ed's head. "WHO'RE YOU CALLING SHORT TO THE POINT HE HAS TO WATCH FIREWORKS FROM THE ROOF?!"
Al and Roy sweatdropped. The latter then remembered he had to be somewhere, "Sorry boys, I gotta head to the roof to launch the fireworks. " He then sprinted down the hall and disappeared at the corner; leaving two teenagers behind gaping at the sudden exit. They both turned to look at each other in confusion.
"Huh? Did I miss something?" Al asked.
"I think he said he had to launch fireworks. Huh. I guess he's not so useless on certain occasions after all," Ed mused.
Al sweatdropped and sighed to himself. Only his brother.
*MEANWHILE*
Roy Mustang reached the rooftop barely in time for the fireworks display to go off. The soldiers stationed around the massive rockets saluted the Colonel as he made his way to them. Mustang saluted back and nodded to Hawkeye and Havoc, who were stationed there as well. Mustang stepped up to the line of rockets, and snapped. Red alchemical lightning lit up around the entire line before the rockets launched up into the air and exploded into massive, colorful, sparks that spread into humongous circles and slowly drifted down. Everyone who was watching, including the brothers who were watching from the colonel's office, gazed at the massive display of fireworks in awe. Mustang was having a blast! Setting off fireworks and watching them at the same time made him feel like a child for some reason. Roy set off another few sets of fireworks for about another fifteen to twenty minutes before he felt a raindrop…
'Oh snap!' Mustang thought before a massive downpour came as soon as he was about to launch another set of fireworks, leaving his gloves wet and unable to use his flame alchemy. Everyone outside ducked and covered to take shelter from the rain. Mustang tried to snap but couldn't create another spark.
Hawkeye came up to him with an umbrella in hand. "Sir, you should take cover indoors. With this downpour, it's impossible to create a spark and the rockets are soaked already."
Mustang slumped in despair at the hidden meaning. He was not useless. He was NOT useless! Riza sighed and dragged a depressed and shocked colonel back inside to avoid him catching a cold.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnndddd that's all I have for you! I love making fun of Roy…*evil grin* anyway, happy Fourth of July!
