Alec settled deeper into the old wooden bench. He had simply needed some time alone. Away from the Institute and Jace and Clary. So many things had changed since Clary showed up. Jace was the happiest Alec had ever seen him. It hurt to know that only Clary had done that, not him. As he sank deeper into his morose thoughts, a familiar scent wafted by him. Moments later, none other than Magnus Bane seated himself on the bench.
"Hello Alec," Magnus purred, "what a pleasant surprise!"
"Hey Magnus." Alec sighed; he really wanted to be alone.
"Why are you away from the Institute?" the warlock asked kindly, "They could definitely use your help with this case."
"Just needed to get away from Jace."Alec huffed, with a little more distaste than he meant to.
That statement felt like a blow to the heart for Magnus. He had been gathering courage to tell Alec how he felt ever since Valentine infiltrated the Institute. Alas, Alec only had eyes for Jace. Magnus had never felt so strongly about a Nephilim and it confused him to no end. The warlock never understood, for sometimes when Alec caught him staring, he smiled back. He knew that Alec knew, he just hoped Alec would someday love him back.
"Earth to Magnus!" Alec said, whilst waving a hand in front of his face.
"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking." The warlock responded sheepishly.
"What on earth could you have been thinking about to make you blush?" Alec asked jokingly.
"You stupid Shadowhunter! You never see what's right in front of your face!" Magnus yelled, "Just get it through your thick head! I love you Alexander Lightwood! Just stop chasing what you can never have and realise what you can!" Magnus jumped off the bench and stormed off. Alec sat in shock; he had never realized Magnus had feelings for him! He sprung from the bench, and ran after Magnus.
Magnus continued to walk briskly away until Alec grabbed his arm, spun him around and kissed him passionately. At first he was stunned, unwilling to believe what was happening. Alec pulled back and said, "I love you too Magnus Bane." With that, Magnus woke up and kissed him back with enthusiasm.
