This was a dare given to me on the Pokemon Fanfiction Challenges to write a fic with my hated ship. It just so happens to be Pearlshipping. And I also owed my friend a birthday present, and she likes Pearlshipping, so happy birthday Nozomi! (Who's names Missa Stone now, but whatever!) Also for the 28 days of love challenge.

Ash scratched his head, looking at the note that was in his hand. It was the last thing that Dawn left him before she went to become a fashion designer, and yet, it wasn't really doing anything for him. Yes, it was nice, but…

He was terrible at riddles! And this just so happened to be one.

Sighing, he crossed out yet another word he had written down. Yeah, okay, the answer was there somewhere, but that would be cheating Dawn, wouldn't it? She had wanted him to figure out the riddle without looking, and doing that would be an insult to her.

He unfolded the paper a bit more, looking at the hint that was under the flap.

"It beginnings with an L."

And it was also the final hint.

"Something that describes me and begins with an L?" Ash asked himself, scratching his head once again. He did have a good vocabulary, okay, an average one, but there was so many things that could describe him. And 'L' did narrow it down, but…

Okay, so there was lucky. And Ash was pretty lucky. He managed to get Infernape to calm down from its Blaze Mode. He also managed to defeat Tobias's legendaries with his team of pretty common Pokémon. And there were those other times that weren't in Sinnoh, like beating Gary at the Silver Conference, or getting Charazard to obey him, or even beating Drake in the Orange League.

But he never told Dawn those other times when he was lucky. And why would Dawn feel the needed to describe him as lucky? Sure, he was pretty lucky, but there wasn't really any point in that.

Legendary? Sure, he did met and battle legends, but, still. That doesn't consider him famous, let alone legendary. No one at the new region knows him, and he's considered an average battler in his home town and such. Only those places where he went he was considered a legend, and wasn't that one island? And yeah, Dawn would never know about that adventure.

Which means he hasn't told Dawn anything about him… oh that was something he probably should work on next adventure. But he did tell her some embarrassing stuff that only Misty and Brock (and maybe Tracey) would know. That does count for something, right?

The riddle, Ash.

Right. So 'lucky' and 'legendary' were out. Laughable? Yeah, he was pretty funny at times, and if he was right, he did manage to make his rivals laugh at him, even if it was at him. But it didn't matter, because it was true they were laughing.

Yeah, of course Dawn would make that the answer to the riddle! It makes sense. And it is a good quality of him, and it's pretty remember-able.

Ash opened up the flap that had the answer.

"So you solved the riddle, Ash!"

And he felt pretty proud of that.

"You know, you're very lovable, Ash."

Wait, what? He read on.

"You're not afraid of really anything. You're yourself and stick to that all the way through. You even helped me regain my confidence and helped me with my contests, despite not really competing in one yourself.

Plus, you're hilarious. Maybe we can meet up somewhere soon?"

It was signed with a little heart after the meet up somewhere part.

Lovable? He hadn't thought of that one. Actually, no one ever told him that about himself, aside from Dawn.

And it was obviously a love letter. Which meant that Dawn loved him. And yet, he was unsure if he returned the favor.

He was upset when she left, and they did make plans to travel the new region together…

Actually, now that I think about it…

He did have feelings for Dawn.
