Betrothed Alien
'I won't let it happen.'
'Robin, please, we must secure freedom and peace, I believe it is the only way.'
'But, Star, I don't want one of my kids used as trade for peace."
Star walked up behind Robin and wraps her arms around his middle. He was looking at the matching cribs of their new-born twins. One boy, one girl: that looked unlike in just about every way. The boy had the Tamaranian red hair and was lying on the linens of the crib, his hair in every direction. His fingers were emanating sparks concluding that he inherited Stars ability to produce star-bolts. The boy was ORION, and it was spelled with all capital letters. The girl had jet black hair just like Robin, and it reminded both parents of her aunt, Blackfire. The baby girl was under the covers within her crib but was not literally on the mattress, she was floating about a ¼ of an inch above it. This showed she was gifted with the ability to fly. She was BlackBlaze. Both of the twins had the Tamaranian eyebrows and a distinct personality.
'Robin we won't lose either one of them, they will stay with us until the time comes.'
'But… remember when you were betrothed to that thing that your sister found. You were supposed to marry someone you didn't even know.'
Starfire's Tamaranian heritage and ancestry definitely made it harder for both of them but it was part of her so robin loved it just as everything else about her. Like her pregnancy lasting 11 months, the weird cravings she had the fact that she was now queen of Tameran, the technology they owned to make that possible, and the fact that she was the last royal descendant.
'The Cramars are not joyous of this old tradition either, they said that we could have the child at five so they can grow up knowing it would happen, they also agreed that they can search for young love, but as soon as both are 19 they are to be bound in matrimony.'
'I don't want to give one up, we don't even know if it is a girl or a boy.'
'Which is why it is lucky that I had twins, one boy and one girl.'
'Star…'
'Robin, please, I want peace for my planet.'
'… Fine.'
Robin turns back to look at the twins yet again and whispered to them, 'I'm sorry.' While doing so Starfire squeezes his middle firmly.
