Remus slowly blinked open his eyes to look at the slightly-blurred face that was standing over him. He blinked a couple more times, and Sirius' face came into view. He was grinning broadly. Remus rolled his eyes, shoving Sirius' face away, and rolling over onto his side.

"Go away Padfoot," he muttered, smiling slightly into his pillow when Sirius began to whine.

"Come on, Remus! It's nine o'clock, we let you sleep in. You should come down, and open presents with us, it's Christmas!" Remus rolled back over onto his back to look at Sirius. "If you don't come down now, I'll kiss you," Sirius threatened.

"Fine, fine." Remus dragged himself out of bed, letting his bare feet skim the carpet before sliding off and helping Sirius grab the pile of presents at the foot of his bed. They brought them down to the Common Room, setting them down beside the fire where his other two friends, the lone Gryffindors who had chosen to stay at school for the holidays: James Potter and Peter Pettigrew.

"You're awake!" James said from an armchair, looking up.

"He dragged me." Remus pointed a thumb at Sirius, who smiled. Remus and Sirius sat down on the couch. James didn't waste another moment, he grabbed the first present on the pile, and ripped off the paper. Remus opened his present with a little more care, choosing one that had fallen to the side, and slowly taking the paper off without ripping it.

"Oh, come on!" Sirius said loudly looking over at Remus delicately unwrapping his present. "Just rip it Remus, I'm sure who ever gave it to you won't mind." Remus ignored him and Sirius went onto his first present, from Remus.

"Oooh! Thanks for the present, Rem."

"Yep." Remus was still unwrapping his.

"Moon-y," Sirius said in a sing-song voice.

"What Padfoot?" he asked, looking up. Sirius had his lips pursed slightly. He leaned across Remus' lap. Remus leaned backward, unable to suppress his smile. "You aren't getting a kiss."

"Yes I am."

"What makes you think I'll let you?"

"This." Sirius pushed himself of the couch cushions, and Remus couldn't back up anymore. Sirius had him pinned. Sirius forced his lips onto Remus'. He was trying to push Sirius off. At last he succeeded and Sirius sat back down, grinning. Remus returned to his present, which was now slightly squashed.

"Padfoot?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want your gum back?"
