Hey, everyone! Okay, I suck. Totally forgot. Oops? On the bright side, after this installment, there are only two fics left!
For anyone new to the verse, it begins with Here In The Dark (Our Two Hearts Are One), followed by Deborah Puckerman, Mike Chang, Mercedes Jones, Kurt Hummel, Blaine Anderson, Tina Cohen-Chang, Artie Abrams, Brittany S. Pierce, Santana Lopez, and then Will Schuester. Also, for anyone new:
When I post the next parts of this verse, they will be independent one-shots, so if you want to follow the verse through email alerts, add me to your Author alerts rather than to your Story Alert.
And as always, please review! Even if it's just to shoot a quick "liked it".
Disclaimer: Glee doesn't belong to me.
Will Schuester
One-shot
Finn called him in a panic at two in the morning.
When the call came through and he saw Finn's number, his stomach sank. He'd been sure that it was a call for a ride come, that Finn had broken the contact.
So when he picked up and Finn started rambling about not thinking to call him earlier, Puck, water guns, and hospitals, Will hadn't known what to think.
"He's hurt. He's really hurt."
Then he knew.
Oh, God...
Finn kept rambling as he tried to get a coherent sentence out of the teen. It took a while, but he got the whole story. The party. The water gun fight. Puck falling. That he didn't wake up.
"He'll be okay, right?"
He wasn't.
Will hadn't been surprised when the others refused to perform at Nationals without Puck. Glee Club was a family. They hadn't even considered that they didn't have enough people to qualify.
He'd been proud of their loyalty.
Continued to be proud when they rallied around Puck and found a way to keep him in Glee. Taught him every step. Stood by him in the halls.
He'd seen the way Brittany blindfolded herself when she and Mike choreographed the new routines.
Seen how protective everyone had gotten.
Seen the friendship between Finn and Puck truly rekindle.
Everything.
If the kids wouldn't have complained about corniness, he would have suggested "You've Got A Friend In Me" or a slightly-revised "We Are Family".
He wasn't ashamed to admit that he'd shed a tear or two at Sectionals.
Watching from the seats now, as they rehearsed for Regionals, he couldn't help the smile that spread across his face.
Puck spun Tina into Mike's arms as Blaine spun Quinn into his. She leaned backward into Puck's chest, hands over the ones he'd clasped over her waist. They sang their section of the song together, voices meshing as they stood at center stage, finishing it off as the rest of the club surrounded them and Mercedes sang the final high note.
They piled together, some shouting, some laughing, all smiling.
One big mess of teens that, in a few months, would be scattered across the country. Some together, some not, but he didn't doubt for a second that they'd all keep in touch.
They were a family.
