A little demon with a feminine body hummed happily at the darkness around her, she smiling lively as she waved and greeted the other demons with that peppy smile of hers.
She was a petite girl wearing nothing but a black fur covering her breasts. Not only that, her lower arms and her hands along with her waist down to her legs were covered in the same fur. She have a pair of small black furred wings at her back. A small, pointy, black furred tail was at her back, specifically near her butt. Her toenails and fingernails were sharp.
Her smooth black hair with curls end reached her midriff and a black and red sunflower adorned the left side of her head. Her crimson, beast-like eyes stared at the darkness bestowed for all the demons, like her, to live.
But what was the most shocking about this little girl was that her always happy expression. She was, among of all demons, cheerfully strolling in the darkness. The demons were curious about her and she all made them her friends. Somewhat... the demons couldn't say no to her.
"Bye bye Tyui-kun! Let's meet tomorrow at the human world, have a nice walk!" The demon girl said grinning merrily at the grey, spiked mask Grey Demon.
The Grey Demon made a dark but embarrassed chuckle. "W-Well, sure, Franice. Shall I call everyone as well for tomorrow?"
The demon girl, Franice, made a beaming expression and replied. "Sure! Call everyone, the more the merrier!"
As the Grey Demon left, Franice happily walked in the opposite direction. She again hummed a happy melody that grabbed most of the demons attention, she that differs from the rest. She marched down in the darkness happily.
She was Franice, a demon girl with a humanized look but a demon still for she was born with it in pure blood. She was given birth by the darkness itself. She was curious at the darkness and she met her fellow demons, many were confused about her personality.
She happily ate a bright blue orb that is a soul and made a satisfied expression. She licked her lips before her wings flapped and she found herself flying in the darkness.
The Demon World was placed filled with all negativity emotions, a place filled with demonic and diabolical presence lingers the air. It wreaks havoc and endless chaos produced. But for Franice, it was a wonderful home for her and she loved the demon world much. Although she was curious what was the human world. When she first get out of the Demon World, she was instantly mesmerized at the brilliance of the outside world. She was excited to explore the living world.
Franice walked on the grassy land, a usual happy expression adorned her cute, childish face. She hummed her favorite tune that she always love all the time while happily skipping on the grassy soft blades.
Unbeknownst of her, one of the Ten Commandments, one of her lords of the Demon World was watching her from a safe distance. Zeldoris, the Commandment of Piety.
The Commandment of Piety sees the Demon World as a savage existence but he didn't care. He reasoned this out with Drole before, Demon World are filled with freaks and creatures so horrible that are not fit enough to lurk around the outside world.
But those reasons were tossed away of what Zeldoris is seeing right. He never ever recall knowing a demon, born in darkness, filled with negativity of both emotions and said appearance, to be completely opposite from what he was investigating about.
Zeldoris attention shifted back to the feminine demon to only notice that she was gone and he looked around. Then he suddenly felt a presence above him and saw Franice's face so close to him. She was smiling excitingly and said. "Boo!"
Zeldoris gave her a blank look before... reaching out and pinching both cheeks of the said demon girl and started pulling it.
"Wa- Aww Cheldhoris-chaaan! Staaahp..."
"You're making a reason to peel your skin off."
Ah, maybe Zeldoris' childhood friend was just a playful demon.
"Owiieee...!" Cried by a discomfort Franice who sat on the grassy ground near the tree where she used to hang herself above Zeldoris. She looked at the said person with a pout and shot an indignant fist in the air. "That hurts you know! Pinching my cheeks like that! Look, it's all purple now!
"Your whining won't help you, Franice." Zeldoris gave her a blank look as the girl let out a whining.
"Sooo mean!"
As Franice caressed gently her purple colored cheeks, she looks at Zeldoris, with her blinking eyes before she remembered something.
How did she meet her childhood friend again?
She hummed recalling back the memories.
"Wha-?! Who are you, demon?" Zeldoris said as his eyes furrowed in at the demon with a human, feminine, shaped body. He was simply walking down the hallway before he ended up bumping at someone. He expected an apologized but what surprised him the most was that this demon was clinging to him like life support.
"E-Eh?! You don't remember me, Zeldoris-chan?" The demon asked, lookout totally bewildered and shocked.
This demon is asking a death wish, is she an idiot? She bumped against Zeldoris, the Demon King's son no less, didn't apologized and now she was forcing him to remember him.
Honestly, he will kill her if she continued to act like that. In an instant, the demon girl found herself pinned down by Zeldoris who was holding his sword, the blade near her throat. He was looking down at her with such ferocious look and cold gaze. But that expression crumbled when he saw something extraordinary from her.
She started to... cry, her eyes was covered by water and tears started to roll down her chin. Zeldoris froze from his position, it made his chest arched in pain and it ended him up confused. He ignored the demon girl that escaped his grasp. He stood there for a few seconds before making a 'tch', guilt started to eat him.
After a few days of that, they met again, but on a different approach. He studied her movements, she was... slow. Unlike before, as far as before, he heard about her. She was Franice from what he remembered. He always heard her from the demons inside AND outside of the castle. Zeldoris was impressed for such a weakling demon can create a popularity. But when he heard what Franice did to gain popularity, everyone, the demons exactly, said she was the nicest demon and darkness rejoiced of her happy existence.
Such statement was unbelievable! They were demons, born in negativity! Unable to feel emotion!
But Zeldoris was unsatisfied, he asked again. But now, he received was a gloomy tone and downcast answer from the demons. He had heard that Franice wasn't lively as before, in fact, she became quiet and depressed as far as they knew. He was confused and his research about Franice only increased and he slowly became wary of it.
"Oh, Franice?" Meliodas, Leader of the Ten Commandments, said as he crossed his arms. He pondered for a moment, putting a finger on his chin.
Zeldoris was surprised at this. "Y-You know her? Big brother?"
Meliodas nodded in confirmation. "Yeah, in fact, she's like our little sister. She is born in the same time as ours."
"Ehhhh?!" Zeldoris was in pure shock and bewilderment. He had no idea this whole demon existence of him, he didn't know!
Meliodas noticed his little brother's shock and realized something. "Wait, seriously? You didn't know until now? Did Father tell you?"
"N-No! In fact, I just met her and..." He trailed as he suddenly remembered how he threatened Franice. Again, that guilt was there, incredibly annoying. "... I threatened her because I thought she was getting way too confident."
Meliodas had to resist an urge to slap his face using his hand. Sighing, he can't really blame him though, he didn't know this whole time. "I see, so that's why I just noticed that most of our army was unhealthy and quiet than before." He said before adding. "And why Estarossa constantly visiting her."
Zeldoris widened his eyes in shock, he didn't know what got him but he suddenly resisted an urge to find Estarossa and have a 'piece of him'. He bit his lip and calmed down, crossing his arms. "Of what reason Estarossa will visit h-her?" He wanted to know.
"Honestly little brother, I don't know. But just like what I said, Franice was born at the same time as ours. Go ask Estarossa."
After their conversation, they departed their ways with the Commandment of Piety sighing in annoyance and troubled look plastered his face. Now, what will he do? Apologized to her? As if he would apologized to a weakling demon like her? However... as much as a pride of being as the Demon King's son, he can't escape from the guilty... might as well make his commandment do his bidding, that way, apologizing could be easy.
But if that way, will Franice really forgive him? If his commandment would do the job, he's just making a fool and fun of himself. Tired of thinking, he resolved with the hardest solution: apologized to her personally.
No wonder why the castle wreak a stronger depression and despair than before, the demons was quiet and they weren't all that livelier.
That is, suddenly, until he heard a ruckus. From the left side of the castle, he heard demons cheering and happily conversing to one another, since when they were this lively again? At first, he noticed that demon around him was oblivious to his presence, until one demon or two finally noticed him and the chatter quickly turned into silence. He traversed through them as they gave him a certain space and respected his presence.
He froze when he finally arrived at the middle of the ruckus, there, he saw Estarossa lifting up Franice high in the air while the latter was forming of what appeared to be an airplane. Suddenly, the Commandment of Piety suddenly got nervous, for the first time he didn't know what to do!
The Commandment of Love, Estarossa, was smiling before but now his smile dropped when he finally saw Zeldoris. He gently put Franice down who looked up at him with her curious, crimson eyes. Estarossa looked down at her before smiling and pointing towards Zeldoris. The demon girl was confused before her crimson, beast-like eyes met Zeldoris' dull brown ones.
In an instant, Zeldoris found himself getting once again pinned down by the demon girl. She looked up at him with her usual bright smile, her tail wagging behind, happily.
And from there, the silence broke and the merry making of the demons once again started at Franice snuggled closer to Zeldoris.
There she was again, tch, sometimes, Zeldoris wanted to know what's going on in her head sometimes. She was again happily humming alone, eyes closed as if she was thinking of something.
He was about to wake her up from her trance when he heard her.
"He whispers down my ear,
Happily knowing enough to make me tear,
I wouldn't ask for more,
I just don't want you to leave me anymore."
...Is... Is she...?
"I sing this song for you,
Hope you like this too,
I sang this out of blue,
Hum without a clue."
...
"I'm happy to know you're there,
Stay beside me everywhere,
Let us hold our hands,
And walk in the endless land."
Yep... he is hearing it. She's singing, a demon no less, singing.
"Stay beside me, stay beside me
Say you never leave me,
How love you, how I missed you,
Please believe me."
Zeldoris smiled as he sat beside her, he continued to listen to her song as he watched the horizon. They were outside of the demon world. He hated this outside world but he can't help but admire its life. Of course it was thanks to this idiotic demon girl beside him.
He suddenly felt a heavy pressure from his shoulder. He looked beside him and nearly jumped in surprise. Franice's head laid on his shoulder while her arms hugged his lone arm. His first instinct was to wake her up but... He suddenly stop when he stared at her face.
Beautiful. That's the word instantly formed in his mind as he stared at Franice's face. Her peaceful expression plus the light shining over her made it clear as glass that he felt something within his chest.
...
Ah, he couldn't control his emotion, can he?
He gently brushed off her bangs using his other arm and he couldn't stop. He moved his face closer to hers.
...
Perhaps... he finally understood why his big brother loves that Goddess.
"I won't let you be the demon king! I shall be!"
Zeldoris swing his sword down at Meliodas whom the latter effortlessly grabbed his sword. The Commandment of Piety's eyes widened in shock and faster than what he can do, Meliodas instantly held both of his arms from behind.
"Meliodas!" Elizabeth cried out.
Zeldoris turned his head to the side to look at Meliodas with his angry glare. He will never let this traitor be the Demon King! But he suddenly noticed that Meliodas whispered something to him, that only he can hear.
"You remember your promise to Franice, right?" Meliodas whispered at him, that sentence enough for Zeldoris to stop struggling and make his eyes widened in shock. With this, Meliofas continued. "You do know that if you became a Demon King, she won't see you anymore. For all we know, she's weak, if you became a Demon King, she wouldn't survive to your presence. I promise, I will take care of her in your stead."
And then he let go of Zeldoris.
…
…
…
He can't say no to that. After all, it's been more than 3000 years since he last see her. Perhaps dying and giving his commandment to Meliodas might satisfied his longing desire to see her again.
Opinions and critics are nice, :3
Only one more chapter left.
Only a true fan who knew Franice's appearance. It wasn't mine. (Clue, cover pic)
