Learning to Sing
By CuteMew
The silent one
Who could not sing
Was always sad
It tried and tried
But it could not sing
It practiced and practiced
Yet it could not carry a tune
It would try and try
Yet nothing would happen
And tears dropped from its eyes
One day it tried to soothe its tired throat
It swallowed a piece of fruit
Cool, sweet juice trickled down its throat
And softened its voice
It could finally sing, and was happy for the first time
It sang, true and clear
A lovely tune
Carried above all
A soothing melody
A soft, sweet lullaby
Jig-guh-ly puff, jig-guh-leee puff…
