Here's the first chapter, not entirely sure where I'm going to head with this so feel free to comment any suggestions in the reviews. Enjoy!
"Peggy! Hurry up, I really don't want to be late," Angie shouted from the front door as she stood there tapping her foot to an impatient beat while she glanced at her phone to check the time again.
"I'm coming, I'm coming, keep your trousers on" Peggy replied as she half ran down the hallway whilst trying to simultaneously put her jacket on and not fall over her still yet to be tied black boots.
"We still have plenty of time! It doesn't take that long to drive to the Jarvis's'" Peggy explained
"I know Peg but I just can't wait to get her and bring her home."
It had been exactly three months since Anna Jarvis had offered Peggy and Angie one of their new-born kittens and Angie had, as expected, been bursting with excitement at the news. When Peggy had agreed, Angie had quite literally almost burst her eardrums with her excited squeal. And today was finally the day they would get to go and meet the little baby.
The drive took almost an hour out to the Jarvis cottage on the edge of the Stark estate but neither of them minded. Angie had put down the roof on their little convertible since, unusually, the sun was splitting the sky. Even the wind wasn't too bad, and as they drove along the small country roads they enjoyed the passing scenery and each other's company while Peggy was in charge of changing the iPod to songs of her choosing. Halfway to the cottage Peggy changed the song to 'Build me up Buttercup' and they both sang it at the top of their lungs. Somewhat startling the sheep in the fields around them.
Angie finally pulled into the driveway surrounded with the most gorgeous flowers at 12:30 and they were met by a smiling Anna and Edwin standing at the door with what appeared to be a tiny little kitten in their arms.
She had barely stopped the car when Angie jumped out, Peggy following only a step or so behind to coo at the baby feline in their arms.
"Hey Anna, hey Edwin how are you today?" Peggy asked whilst Angie continued cooing.
"Very well Peggy dear, very well indeed" Anna replied handing the baby over to Angie to cuddle, "why don't you both come in and have a spot of lunch and a play with the wee ones?"
"#We'd love to" Angie looked up from the little kitty and replied.
Peggy looked over Angie's shoulder at quite literally the cutest little kitten she had ever seen and fell in love instantly, reaching over to rub it's belly earning herself a purr.
The two couples headed into the garden where Edwin had already set out lunch things and sat down to enjoy a chat.
