Came to Save Her

"I've been hit!" Tatsumaru yelled into his headset as his flaming LFO quickly plummeted to the ground. He gripped the controls tightly as he tried to brace for the impact, watching the ground racing up towards him. "Can anyone hear me?" He screamed but all he heard was static. He ripped the headset off and threw it to the floor.

With the last of his strength he pulled back on the controls, trying to level out. "Damn it!" All warning lights and alarms were going off, warning him that they were about to crash but he didn't care. He shouted defiantly as he pulled one last time, he was able to level out for a moment and Tatsumaru smiled in spite of himself.

There was a small canyon ahead and he was almost positive that he could land in it without causing his LFO to explode. Suddenly his LFO dove down and slammed head first into the edge of the canyon. The LFO slid slowly down to the riverbed below. "Damn it." Tatsumaru repeated as he opened the hatch and realized he was completely upside down, hanging over the shallow river, the only thing holding him in was his seatbelt.

"This sucks." He said and he undid the seatbelt. He fell into the river in a heap. Untangling himself he sat up and rubbed his head where he felt a sharp pain. When he looked at his hand he saw blood, Tatusmaru quickly turned at looked at his reflection in the water. He had a small cut on the right side of his forehead that was bleeding quite a bit.

Tatsumaru looked up at his LFO and saw that it was still on fire. That can't be safe, He thought to himself. He stood up and tried to brush some of the mud off of his soaked clothes. The weather this time of year wasn't too cold so he figured he didn't have to worry too much about walking around in wet clothes. Tatsumaru looked up at the canyon wall and realized he had a long way to climb to get to the top. He walked over and gripped a small ledge in his left hand and he began his slow climb.

A black, 4-door military car raced down the deserted road. Four people sat in the car, silently watching as the empty landscape passed by. Three of the passengers were males, dressed in black military uniforms. The fourth was a young girl dressed in red, her long blonde hair was braided and a few loose strands hung in her face. She glared out the window of the back seat.
