Rain Walk

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or anything like that.

Danny walked down the street not knowing where he was going and frankly he didn't care. The sky was a dull gray; nothing like it's usually vibrant blue. It was raining before and most likely going to rain again judging by the sky. Danny loved these days they were relaxing. They where perfect days to take a walk and where you could think of nothing or anything depending on your mood. The world was quiet like it decided to take a nap. No one where out on these days not even the ghosts, so he had the streets to walk on all to himself. With no one else out there was only the occasional sound of a car passing by to disturb the silence. It was toward the end of winter; it was cold, but still not cold enough for it to snow. Danny didn't care he was cold most of the time any way since becoming a ghost or half ghost anyway.

Danny looked back on the past year so much had changed, but still things were the same. There were still his same old goof ball father, his over protective mother, tech-geek Tucker, and Sam.

Oh Sam how could he describe Sam. She was so smart, so confident, and so unique. Then there were all those people who thought they were a couple his dad, his mom, his sister, and about everyone at school. They weren't a couple and he didn't like her like that. They were just friends and he couldn't like her more than that, or did he? He couldn't, but then he thought about all the times people said they were a couple maybe just maybe he wasn't mad that they thought that they were a couple, but that he was mad because they weren't and he wanted them to be. Then there was the Gregor thing. He was so mad and depressed when they kissed. He shouldn't have been that mad if he only wanted to protect Sam from being hurt. That's when it hit him. He liked Sam; he really liked Sam. More than a one friend to the other friend like.

How could he have missed that? He didn't even know that he liked his best friend. That saying about love is blind must really applied to this. Danny wondered if Sam liked him to. Then he thought about all the clueless jokes. He really was clueless. Sam wouldn't have done a fake out make out just to confuse Valerie. She wanted to kiss him and know Danny wanted to kiss her. Danny got out of his thinking and found that he was on Sam's doorstep.

Danny rang the doorbell hoping that Sam was home. The door slowly opened the opener obviously wondering who would come to call on a day like this. The door finally opened with Sam behind it. "Oh Danny on another one of your rain walks," asked Sam.

How could he have not seen how beautiful she was? Those lilac eyes seeing everything and knowing everything about the person she was now looking at. Her jet black hair clean and in place and being the total opposite of his messy and dirty hair. Danny looked at her and said"I was just wondering would you like to go to the Nasty Burger. Like as a date."

Sam astonished at what she was hearing took a minute to reply. "Sure I'd like that. I would like that a lot," replied Sam getting back her voice and stepping on her front porch.

They walked in silence for a couple minutes each not sure what to do. Danny stopped and turned around to face Sam. He slowly leaned forward and kissed Sam and backed away. "I hope you didn't mind I just wanted to kiss you," said Danny. As a reply Sam leaned forward and started kissing Danny in a more passionate kiss. It started to rain with them there kissing, but neither of them minded they liked the rain.
