A short one-shot. I imagined Shu would say this to Eiri in one way or another.

Disclaimer: the song "Good Enough" belongs to Amy Lee and Evanescence; Gravitation and all related characters, etc. belongs to Maki Murakami. I am using these materials for my own fangirlish dreams, and do not own them in any way.

Enjoy.

Under your spell again; I can't say no to you

Crave my heart, and it's bleeding in your hands; I can't say no to you

Shuichi sighed in relief and collapsed on his couch. He really needed to thank Suguru for all his patience - teaching piano and keyboarding skills was no easy task, especially when the student was a hyperactive pink-haired boy wonder. But Suguru had done it - and now, Shuichi had written a masterpiece.

Tonight was Eiri's birthday - and one of Bad Luck's biggest concerts of the year. The novelist didn't react much to the news that Shuichi would be gone for his birthday evening, though the singer was distraught over the injustice. However, Shuichi had pleaded incessantly with his lover to attend the concert, and the blonde had eventually caved in and agreed. With this promise, Shuichi had embarked on an epic mission to write the perfect song for his lover.

It had taken many long, sleepless nights and caffeine-jolted morning-afters, but Shuichi had done it. Not only that, but he had written the piano accompaniment all on his own. He was proud of his accomplishments, but butterflies fluttered in his stomach. Hopefully, Eiri would appreciate the effort Shuichi had given forth.

Shouldn't let you torture me so sweetly, now I can't let go of this dream

I can't breathe, but I feel good enough

I feel good enough for you

"TOUKYOU, KONBANWA!!"

Shuichi grinned at the large crowd of rabid screaming fans, letting their admiration rain down on him. He would never get tired of this job. Hiro looked at him.

"Shu, you ready?" he asked. He nodded and walked to Suguru.

"Can I use the keyboards for a bit, Suguru?"

The synthesist nodded with a knowing smile and went to stand by Hiro. Shuichi pulled a microphone to the keyboard and turned back to the audience.

"Today, someone very special had a birthday. I think you all know who that special someone is," he said with a grin. Scanning the crowd, he found his blonde lover in the back of the audience. He could almost swear there was a blush forming on Eiri's face.

"It took me a long time, but I wrote a song for him. I wanted to celebrate his birthday with him, but I had to perform for you guys, so I couldn't be there with him. So, I was hoping you would all celebrate with me."

The crowd went nuts, and Shuichi smiled.

"This is Good Enough."

And I'm still waiting for the rain to fall

Pour real life down on me

'Cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough

Am I good enough

For you to love me too?

Shuichi looked up from the keyboard to gaze at his lover, and their eyes met.

So take care what you ask of me,

'Cause I can't say no...
