NFTA: Yeah its really short, I randomly decided to have chapters around 1,000 words. But when I was writing the perfect spot to stop appeared so I ended it short. This story starts off with a big tragedy, just thought it was fair to warn you.
Chapter One: Same old Yoh and Anna.
Amidamaru ran down the stairs to the dinner table and helped himself to some cereal. His father looked up from the news paper and smiled at him, ruffling his wavy brown hair.
"Hey Maru, better get ready for school." He said gently to his only child, the boy grinned childishly, his cheeks puffing up from being over stuffed with colorful bits of cereal.
"YOH-SAN!!!!" The house seemed to shake with the shout, Yoh patted his son on the head before rushing off to find his wife.
"Y-yes Anna Sama?" The young brunette asked after locating the blonde woman waiting impatiently in the laundry room. Nothing had changed since they had become engaged those years ago,.
"Twenty-three years old and you still can't do a simple task!" She said moving to the side to reveal a giant mound of clothing, 'sock mountain' as their son called it.
"Sorry Anna, I uhh…." Asakura remembered back to last night…
"I want this laundry done by tomorrow." Anna said threateningly.
"Yes Anna." Yoh replied, not really paying attention.
"And use fabric softener this time!"
"Yes Anna."
"And I don't want any stains left on Amida's soccer uniform."
"Yes Anna."
"Yoh-Kun!" A distant voice shouted. The brunette grinned, Manta and the gang had arrived. He rushed up the stairs to the first floor.
"YOH!!!" Anna shouted angrily
"When I get back!" Asakura called as he slammed the door to go out with his friends.
"Hey, Yoh?" Horo-Horo whispered in between huge bites of fried turkey legs.
"Mmm?" Yoh looked up at his blue haired friend, spooning up some mashed potatoes. They were relaxing at the diner of the bowling alley. The rest were bowling, with the exeption of Ren, who was beating up Chocolove.
"What did Anna want you to do when you were coming out to the car?"
"Oh…uhh…I dunno. I guess she was mad I didn't do the dishes before leaving."
"Oh. Good!"
"Why'd you ask?"
"Well I thought we could pull an all-nighter and get back late!" And then the two went to join the rest of the gang…
"I…forgot!" Yoh finished.
"Ohh you!" Anna's face flushed read with anger. "I want all of this done before you start today's training!"
"What!? But Anna I-" He stopped as he heard a bus approaching. "Well Amidamaru will be off to school, I'd better go say good-"
"Oh no you don't! Get to work!" Yoh sighed in defeat and headed for the mountain of laundry. Just then the two heard a squeal of tires and a scream. They ran upstairs and out the door. The bus was in front of their house with blood splattered on the rear view mirror, and there son lay on the grass with blood covering all his face and chest.
Anna stood in utter shock as Yoh ran over and held their dead son…
