Lightening Crashes

It had happened before. It had happened before but never had it happened in the middle of a class.

The loud crack echoed through the building. The lightening flashed brilliantly and the thunder resounded. The rain came down ice cold and in sheets soaking the ground and creating huge mud puddles. The lights flickered and finally the power gave way purging the students into a velvety darkness.

She was reduced into a ball on the floor. She had been playing her part and pretending to be the resolute school boy. It had been the same as every other day but now it was different.

Her body wracked with sobs that were drowned out by excited screams and other voices. She didn't recognize the strong hands that grabbed her but the scent was familiar. She felt the comfort of someone holding her, rocking her like a mother's rocks a frightened child.

In the back of her mind she heard the teacher dismiss class but she did nothing. She just gave into the gentle cradling and felt the person pick her up. They moved slowly down the hallway and she buried her face into the soft chest and fell asleep.

When she woke she was in her house. Her father was sitting on the bed watching her and stroking her forehead.

"Are you alright sweetheart?" he asked.

"How did I get here?" she asked rubbing the remaining sleep from her eyes.

"Your friend brought you home," he replied.

It was then that she remembered the familiar smell of cologne and the hands that had soothed her fears and the all too familiar voice telling her it was going to be okay.

The rest of the night went by quickly. She slept dreaming of the soft arms that had cradled her. She wasn't a romantic but she was comforted by the thought of him caring.

The next day school flew by quickly. Haruhi didn't bring up the thunderstorm and to her surprise her friends didn't say anything. She acted no different and the day went as they normally did.

She walked into the Host Club alone. She had to stay behind for a few minutes to talk with her teacher about the upcoming math exam.

Everyone was in their usual places. The Host club wasn't busy today considering that it was sprinkling outside.

Kyoya was writing in the host club files. Hunny was eating cake with his bunny. Mori was silently reading a book and bent over what looked to be homework. Tamaki was in the corner having a slight nervous breakdown most likely caused by her being late. The twins were lounging on the couch. Karou was dozing and Hikaru was watching the door waiting for her to come.

His golden eyes lit up when he saw walk through the door. They all turned towards her.

"Haru-chan, you're alright. We were so worried Haru-chan," Hunni exclaimed as ran over and hugged her.

"Daddy's here. I can kiss it better. Whatever happened I can make it better," Tamaki crooned.

Haruhi just ignored the commotion going on around her. She marched over determinedly towards the couch.

She did something very uncharacteristic. She bent down and kissed him firmly on the lips tongue and all. The remaining host club members jaws dropped.

"Thank you for being the one to find me," she whispered.

Then she headed off into the changing room.

Hikaru's face was still dark red by the time she came out.

The End
