"...Fuck..."

As Yoichi Hiruma, age 35, struggled to fix his tie, his cellphone began to ring. Giving up on his tie, he snatched up the phone and flipped it open. Glancing at the caller ID, a snarl formed on Hiruma's lips. Holding the cellphone up to his ear, he snapped, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

"Hmph. That's not a very polite way to speak over the phone, Hiruma," spoke a stern feminine voice on the other line.

"...Why are you calling?" Hiruma asked, ignoring her remark.

"I wanted to know how the children are doing," she replied.

"They're fine, dammit! Both of the damn brats! I told you I always make sure to feed them, and put them to bed at the right time, and dress them properly, and everything!" Hiruma barked.

The woman on the other line was silent for a moment. "...It's funny, the way you are now. Remember back in high school, when you had all those guns-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! I don't want to talk about it. That part of me...that life is over now. My life revolves around my simple desk work job now...and the children, of course!"

"You played Football, too..."

"I SAID I DON'T...I don't want to talk about it...okay?"

A minute of pregnant silence. "...I've been fine, just so you know," she commented.

"That's...good." Hiruma replied, truthfully unable to be any less interested in her life any more.

"I'm getting married next week..."

"Oh, really? Do you plan on having some fun with him, give birth and then run off again? Like you did with me?"

"I told you," she exclaimed, "That was a huge mistake on both our parts. We were only in our first year of college, Hiruma! Although...although I gave birth, I couldn't stay with you. I...I didn't love you like I did when it first began...I wanted to live my own life...I already told you how sorry I am...it was the hardest decision I had ever made..."

Hiruma snarled. "You say you're sorry, and that it was a hard decision, yet you still leave me with two kids without a mother to help raise them, and now you're getting married to some dude you probably just fucked yesterday. I never thought I'd say this out loud, but...you make me sick!"

"Hiruma-"

"Listen, I loved you when it started back then too, and I still had love for you even when you left me and the kids. I always had the slightest hope that one day I'd return home and find you waiting for me in the living room, with both of our children happily standing around you. Now, you tell me you're getting married, and I feel like I'm nothing but utter shit in your eyes! And, you know what, the same to you, bitch! I think you're shit too!"

"H-Hiruma...I...I..."

"I don't want to hear this crap anymore. I have to go to work. Good-bye...fuckin' manager,"

Then, Hiruma hung up the phone and went back to working on getting his tie on...
