Chasing Reality

As she wanders through her forest of broken dreams

She is lost by the entanglement of her life's extremes

--

She is shocked at this harsh truth of reality

Her fantasy world had ended with such brutality

--

But there in the distance, lays ahead her fate

And as she walks towards it, who knows what will await?

--

Up ahead, she can see a sparkling pool

Ripe with tattered memories, why is she such a fool?

--

She definitely knows that she desperately needs to flee

As her image is a black shadow of what she used to be

--

The dappled waters that lay ahead remind her of her dappled life

The life that has been mottled with memories that are speckled with rife

--

Crystalline trees sway around her, branches flowing in the breeze

But as she looks closer she sees the fruit is ripe with disease

--

They seem to symbolise her life; of all the times she has cried

Beautiful on the outside, but torn and damaged inside

--

Her broken figure stands by the scintillating pool

By the pensive of her past, and what she must do to rule

--

It becomes clear to her of what she needs to do

In her shattered heart, she somehow always knew

--

She must run away from her family's attack

She must run off with her darling and never look back
