By the Seashore On the red sky
Message from an Angel: This is just a little short story i did i hope you like it! REVIEW!!!!!!!!!
Rei dragged a stick limply behind her on the beach. It scratched and bumped over the sand and rocks as the waves lapped at her feet. She hummed a light tune to herself as she swayed side to side.
The sun was setting on the sea giving it a soft orange color. Rei walked out into the water until the hem of her white dress was floating around her knees. She watched the sun turning the sky a beautiful bright red, like Itachi-san's eyes.
His voice calm and mute sounding, drifted over the waves to her, "Rei, stay close."
Her eyes tore away from the blood red sky and wandered down the beach to where Itachi and Kisame were standing.
"Hurry it up, kid!" Kisame called with a chuckle as he started back down the sandy shore.
Rei dropped the stick and felt her legs carry her to Itachi's side. Some how he always remained one stride ahead of her. Her eight-year-old legs were getting tired as she fought to keep pace with him. She began lagging behind, farther, and farther.
Itachi's strong arms wrapped around her small frame, ignoring the wet dripping dress and lifted her above him and over his head. She stopped squirming putting her faith in her savior. She gripped on to his shoulders as he let go of her for a second to take her legs, holding her in place on his back.
His soft jet-black hair blew in her face on the light breeze, free from it's usually hiding place in his cloak. He and Kisame both had taken them off in the warm weather, and now they were hanging off Kisame's sword Samehada swaying in the wind.
"Y-you don't have to carry me I-Itachi-sama." Rei peeked at him over his shoulder.
"Shh, be quiet and just watch the sun…" Itachi said softly, and Rei wondered if it was the warm summer air that made his voice sound so warm. She nodded and peeked over the opposite shoulder to watch the sun sinking down behind the horizon.
The sky was dyed an unbelievable red with the most gorgeous colors being left to dance on the water. The sand mixed with the water and looked like one entity. Rei had never seen the ocean before now but was sure she was in love with it just as much as she was sure she was falling for…
Her eyes drifted over the strong man that was carrying her…she was falling for him, Itachi Uchiha…the infamous Itachi Uchiha whose crimes were almost unspeakable, almost. Maybe that was why she could love him? Maybe not, what ever it was she knew she would protect him with her life, even if it wasn't love. She had a lot to thank Itachi for and only one way to do that, remain and forever be useful to him, and always be beside him.
"Itachi…put me down…" She whispered in his ear.
He shrugged and knelt to set her down. She slid gently from his back and he glanced at her before moving on.
She ran to his side always remain by his side…always…
