Laurie isn't dead
Laurie's contractions are coming thick and fast, she is in the looked room with Carol and Karl. She is so worried about the outcome of this birth, a baby in a world of walkers, will she survive the labour and also will the baby eat her from the inside as she was worried about all along if the baby dies before its born.
Carol knows she is going to have to cut open Laurie and get the baby out, but how does she manage to cut open a woman who is still alive? Practising on the walker was easy, but this is going to be so difficult. But Carol is becoming a strong woman after the world wnet to shit.
"Just do it, cut me open. Please carol save my baby." Carols grabs the knife and starts to cut into her abdomen, through the uterus wall being so careful not to cut the baby. Laurie passes out from the pain or shock, no one knows but the baby is out in the world a little girl.
Karl is trying not to vomit at the sight in front of him, he has his gun ready to shoot his own mother in the head. He never imagined this would ever be the right thing to do before the walkers. No one would have said yes shouting your mother in the head is the right thing to do but the world is changed.
The baby is crying, which is a good sign. But its attracting more walkers. Then there is a knock in the door and Daryl says "I take it you could do with some help in there" Busting open the door he carries Laurie to the infirmary in the prison carol following close by cause the baby is still attached to her mothers placenta.
When they Laurie on the bed, carol takes out the placenta. Then clips the end and cuts it off. The baby is then wrapped up in a sheet and handed to Daryl who has never even held a baby before, never had much interest, But the little girl grabs his finger and he says to her "your a right little ass kicker"
Carol gets the equipment needed to clean Laurie and then she stitches her up, just as Hershel had taught her. Laurie is still unconscious thankfully or she would be screaming the place down.
Two days later Laurie awakes in cell block C with Rick holding their daughter and its a happy moment after all the misery they have had and the tension between Rick and Laurie after Shane its a nice change.
"so what's her name then?" Rick says to Laurie. Think she should be called Lilly. Karl hearing this marches in and says a baby who is a fighter and strong should not be named after a stupid flower. "OK then what name do you want?" asks Laurie. Judith. It suits.
Skip forward 18 months and Laurie is being eaten by walkers and she thinks of her husband and children and wouldn't it have been easier if she had of died in childbirth then her family would still be alive.
Sometimes it takes one life to save many others.
