Happiness

Kurenai-sensei let us out early today. It is rare of her to do something like this, so I am very surprised. That is not to say that she normally wants us to train too extreme, like Gai-sensei does; my cousin, Neji-san, complains about him all of the time, but he is a very good student and very smart, and I do not think that he should complain at all. I think that, if it were not for Gai-sensei, that Neji-san would not be as smart as he is now.

I am getting off the subject, though. Where was I? Oh, yes! Kurenai-sensei will not normally let us out early, but she will not under- or overdo our training and studying, either. I think that she is the perfect blend of the four instructors here in Konoha.

Sighing, I stop and look around. My other teammates have no doubt gone home or are hanging out with each other. I am the loner of our team, being the only girl and all. Kiba-san likes to be around anyone other than his older sister.

Kiba-san… Well, I am not too sure about Kiba-san, to be honest. I do not think that he likes his family very much. I have heard him mention that his sister treats him horribly – his older sister, that is. My thoughts are that all siblings act like that. Hana-san and Kiba-san make a good example.

I pass the stream, dipping my feet in it as I go by. My feet are damp now, and my sandals are soaked, but I do not care. It is hot outside. Smiling, I get the best idea. Why not go swimming? The stream widens not far from here. I mean, it is the perfect day for taking a swim.

Now… which way to the… oh my gosh! Is Naruto jumping from the cliff? I mean, I know he's a relatively good ninja, but we're both still genin and... and... Oh my gosh! What... what if... Is he suicidal? No! He can't be!

I begin running toward where I saw him last, tears gathering in my eyes from not only my speed but from fright. What is he thinking? Is he okay?

I hear a splash, then cursing. Is he alright? Leaning over the cliff, I try to stifle my gasp – though I do not think that it worked. I quickly give up and yell out from my position at the top of the cliff:

"Naruto!"

His eyes search for me only a moment before finding me. Naruto smiles and waves me down. "Hey, Hinata, do you want to join me in the water? It's a bit cold at first, but it feels great!"

Laughing, I shake my head. "I might. I'll have to check out the temperature of the water before I do anything drastic like you," I say as I continue laughing. I can hear Naruto laughing below me now, too.

"At least dip your feet in the water! It's the perfect day for getting wet!"

Shaking my head again, I answer him: "I know, Naruto, I know. Be patient, will you? I'll be down there in a second, okay?"

He nods eagerly, diving under the water then back up again, shivering then splashing around. I finally decide to stop watching him - just that thought made me blush - right when I was beginning to get it under control, too! - get up and head down to the stream, where he is. I am not sure if I will be swimming, but either way, I know that I will have some fun. Where Naruto is, there is bound to be happiness.

that I randomly thought up the other day.
