Author's Note: Hey there! These are really just one-offs. I'm not entirely sure whatto call them. Headcanons? One shots? I don't know. Musings, perhaps. Anyway, they will center around my thoughts of what could have been, Nolanverse-wise, dealing with Joker, Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, and Jonathon Crane/Scarecrow. Here, mind you, Harleen and Jonathon would have been at Arkham as doctors at overlapping times. These will be sporadic. I think I'll post in threes.

UPDATE: 9/19/2012: I decided this was far too short, even if it is just bits. So here, have some more!

In all of the Joker's various crimes (arson, assault, theft, homicide,) there is one missing that Doctor Harleen Quinzel questions: no where in the entire cabinet that is the file on him is there any sexually-motivated crimes. No rape, no sexual assault, nothing. And in her sessions, she thinks to ask, but she doesn't because, just in talking to him, in the way he makes their tiny little room a stage, she realizes why:

Such crimes are about power. They're power displays, struggles, fights. They're done to dominate. And the Joker has no need to do such things because he already has the power.

-

Once, Harley surprises Scarecrow, and he gasses her. He expects screaming fits, shudders of absolute terror, bawling as she is prone to do at a spider or a thunder storm but so, so much worse.

He is instead greeted by silence.

When the worst of his toxin has passed through, and she trembles on his couch, nearly spilling the mug of tea he has brought her, Jonathon asks her what she saw. She tells him every detail, and he's appalled at what she says. Then she shrugs and gives him a smile. Afterall, she lived with fear everyday for years, what she saw there were just memories. It loses it's sting after a while, like a well-used knife.

-

Much like Mister J, Harley certainly knew she would need a striking costume to make her appearances in. Given her familiarity with gymnastics, it only seemed natural to modify an old costume from her days in gym to fit the nature of her new use for the tricks. It was either that or lingerie, and have you ever tried cartwheeling away from the cops in your teddy?

-

Sometimes Jonathon takes her out. She wears a wig, even though most have forgotten what she looks like with the face paint. He doesn't discourage her though: she's prettier without the clown's influence.

-

After the Joker's death, Harleen doesn't wear black or red for months.

-

It takes Jonathon three years to discover what Harleen's real hair color is.

-

Harleen is afraid of thunderstorms. She squeaks or jumps every time she hears a peal, and laughs her apology for being "being such a sissy" when Jon comes to her. He doesn't lecture her about such a childish fear or expect her to talk through her blubbering (she does anyway.) He just tells her about his day or muses aloud, pretending he doesn't notice that her pulse races faster when he touches her than it does when she hears thunder.
