A splash of dirty water fell directly on my face and woke me up with a sudden startle. I heard footsteps start approaching me. The silence was broken every couple of seconds when water would drip down through the floorboards and landing on the ground below.
"Are you ready to talk now" a Japanese officer said with a broken English accent. I just stared him down. I took a vow of silence when I was captured by the enemy. Knowing they wouldn't believe me if I said that I didn't know anything. I grunted as they grabbed me by the hair, pulled me outside and threw me into the dirt. I was unable to catch myself with my hands tied behind my back. A soldier kicked me in the ribs, so hard that I started to cough. He crouch down so that we were face to face. He said very sarcastically "are you ready to talk now?" The three of them let out a foolish laugh at me as i gasped for air. The pain was too much me. I was half conscious at this point. "Put in back in there and tie him down tight, not gonna talk."
I started to regain consciousness about 2-3 hours later. The air was hot and thick. My sore lungs made it even harder to breath. The reason i ended up like this i was captured 2 nights ago when my squad was ambushed. I passed out after a grenade went off close enough that the percussion knocked me out.
The door to the shacked flew open as 2 soldiers entered. They loosen my ties and manhandled out my cell. We walked across the camp and into a building. The place was pretty empty. They sat me into a chair and tied me to it. The same japanese officer that kicked me last night entered. He gave me a smug smile and politely said
"How was your sleep" i swallowed hard. "We can and will make you talk right?. He pulled up a chair across from me. "We can start off simple, can you tell me your name." i thought for a second. I then let out in a very weak and raspy voice.
"Elliot Johnson." I coughed as the words left my mouth. The officer scoffed
"That such a generic name." He looked very serious all a sudden. "Do you wish to talk?" I shooked my head very slowly staring into his eye's. "Very well your choice." he stood up and pulled the pistol out of the holster.
A sudden strike was heard by the nearby observation tower then it fell dead silent. The officers and the soldiers ran out side. Short after the silence was broken by a mass barrage of machine gun fire. More explosions followed shortly after. The battle was very short but intense. I could hear someone running now. A squad of men entered the room brisk and cautiously. One guy cut the ties of my chair.
"You all free to go buddy" a familiar voice said. A single tear dropped down my face as i knew i was gonna live to see tomorrow.
