Lord of the Ancient Skies

The Togechickku will die before it even realises I am there.

Every moment of the attack is carefully planned. Methodical. Lethal. I cannot afford for a single think to go wrong.

I swoop down in my take down attack. I ready my claws. Getting closer and closer…

I remove its head in one swoop. Gone is the prey. Now it is meat.

I roar, announcing to all those around that I have killed. I hear the Pikachu running away as I speak. I don't bother with such weak mammals anyway. I leave them to the Scyther.

I gave around, worried that someone will steal my kill. Those strange Primeape's live nearby. They look like regular ones, but they're are taller and slimmer. Intelligent. They use spears as well. And fire!

I notice something. The Togechickku had an egg with it. They are a brilliant delicacy. I will take it with me.

I upon my wings and fly up! The ecstasy of flight! The brilliance of the sky!

No one ever dares to challenge me! No living thing could win.

But there is a presence in the sky. A great comet! I see it strike the ground…and I am hit by a blast!

I am falling…falling…

I awake.

I am in a strange cavern, like the ones where our females lay their eggs. Yet this one is strange. The smells are all wrong. Where are the Stonoles? I know they live in caverns like these.

I hear a battle. I gaze across to try and see what is happening.

Omanyte's, Omastar's, Kabuto's and Kabutops' have teamed up against an enemy. 3 strange mammals, each with little fur and wearing strange garments. They look like the smart Primape, only…weaker. With them is a Pikachu, a Meowth and an Arbok. This is strange; Arbok's prey on such weak creatures.

There is also a strange red lizard with a flame on its tail and a brown floating creature with two heads. They are not known to me.

I cannot allow the other predators to kill these Pokemon. I feel hungry, as if I haven't eaten in years. I need nourishment!

As I swoop towards my prey, the Kabutops' hear me and run. Weaklings. I land and announce my presence to my prey. One of the strange Primeape's pulls out a talking red weapon! I will not allow him to attack!

I swoop down after him. The red lizard gets in the way, so I swat him aside. I grab the boy in my talons and swoop out of the cave and into MY sky!

Something is wrong. The jungle has gone and has been replaced by rocks. The strange Primeape's are everywhere! Two of them are talking to a podgy pink thing. Inconsequential.

The red lizard is back. It screams for a fight. I sneer at it. It can never win against me. Nothing wins against ME!

Something is wrong! The lizard's…evolving. It grows wings, size, fangs. It snarls, shooting out flame. I don't want to fight it.

I run.

I am fleeing! The last time I did that was when an older Aerodactyl attacked me. This is worse. This reptile is blasting flame at me. I can't attack it for fear of losing. I hate being afraid!

Suddenly, a strange noise. It cuts through my senses, making me sleepy. It is the pink thing!

So tired…

NO! I can't give up! I am the ruler of the skies!

So tired…

My mind protests but it doesn't stop me from falling.

Falling…

And I know that I will never wake again.
