A small flash of light with an insistent little voice broke Link out of his deep sleep. "What is it Navi?" he asked the little sprite hovering around him as he opened his mouth wide yawning. "You were supposed to meet Saria ten minutes ago!" Link stretched his arms back yawning once again and then got to his feet. He quickly pulled on his green outfit and his boots and then started searching around the room looking under the bed and in his closet. "Navi wheres my hat?" He turned to see his hat hovering in mid air and snatched it up. "Thanks Navi, comon lets go!" With that he ran out of the tree house jumping to the ground not bothering with the ladder. "Link!" Navi shrieked. "Stop doing that! One of these days your gonna break your arm!" Yeah whatever" said Link ignoring the sprite as he ran towards the forest.
After a brisk run he saw Saria sitting at the usual place playing the familiar tune on her Ocarina. She stopped, lowering the instrument from her lips as she spotted Link. The hero quickly covered the distance reaching Saria, with Navi in tow. "Hey Link, late again I see." remarked Saria. "Yeah sorry about that, couldn't find my hat" Link said. Which was partly the reason he was late in his eyes. Navi spoke up saying, " Link, don't make excuses you overslept and you know it!" Link glared at Navi for ratting him out which caused Saria to start laughing. Link turned to his head to look at Saria. "So what's up?" The Kokiri stopped laughing and turned her attention to Link. "Not too much... well actually...i wanted to ask you something" Link shrugged "Shoot." She nodded. "Well these past few days you've been acting sorta.. weird. You seem so distant and bored with everything it's like your not the same person." Whats wrong?" Link frowned glancing at Navi he knew she was thinking the same thing he was. After traveling through time, having countless adventures, and saving Hyrule Being a little kid again in a forest full of Kokiri's was just plain boring to him. Link and Navi were the only ones who remembered the great adventure. He wished he could go back sometimes and not being able to tell anyone about all that had happened to him except Navi was torture. "Link?" a voice questioned disrupting his train of thought. He turned to look at Saria. "You okay? You just sort of spaced out for a minute there." Link nodded "Yeah im ok just thinking I guess."
Saria nodded looking over Link as he did so. Lately her friend had been so distant his mind was always in the clouds. It seemed that he was thinking back to something. Of what she had no idea and when she asked him what he was thinking about he always said it was nothing. She was starting to get a little concerned; she had noticed the strange behavior since Link had gotten his own fairy. Are you sure okay Link? Ever since the Great Deku Tree sent Navi to be your fairy you've been acting strange."
Link's eyes lit up at hearing Sarias words. The Deku Tree! Maybe he knew about the future and Link could talk to him about it! Maybe there was a way he could go back... and see her again... "Uh Saria I have to go" he said picking up his hat which he had laid on the ground next to him. " I forgot... I had to talk with Deku Tree about something. "I'll be back soon." With that the boy ran off towards the village, Navi trying her best to catch up. "Link! wait !" called Saria. But he was already out of sight "Theres something odd about that boy a voice to the left of her said. Navi turned towards the blue light looking at Saria's fairy."No argument there" agreed Navi as she took off after Link.
Well thats the end of Chapter 1! This is my first Zelda fanfic and I hope it came out well. I would appreciate your comments good or bad. To decide whether or not to continue with it.
