"Please! Let me play! One more song?"

Grosky looked at him for a few heartbeats, and closed his eyes, nodding. As he walked away, Oswald Whistler turned to the now broken machine.

His fingers hovered over the keys, like fog hovering over the ground. To me, he was a broken man; he had lost his wife, his daughter. But not only had he lost a daughter- I had lost a best friend.

He hesitated. Oswald Whistler never hesitated. But now, he wasn't sure of himself any longer.

His fingers pressed against the ivory keys, testing the sound. He took a deep breath, gathering himself. I looked back at the professor, feeling a twinge of anger. He was so… Unnervingly calm. Melina had LEFT US.

I looked down, ashamed. Everyone had their own way of mourning. Perhaps, this was his way.

My gaze snapped up when Mr. Whistler suddenly pressed the keys with more confidence. The music flew, the wind playing with the flying notes. I stepped toward him, my hands pressed against my chest.

And I began to sing.

At first, it was a tune of mourning, but then, my singing suddenly turned to the song Melina had sang.

A Song of the Sea.

Mr. Whistler looked back at me, his eyes giving away his pain. I realized then, that he would never looked at me the same way he did before. Each time he'll look at me, he'll always see Melina. I would bring him an aching pain in his heart.

I choked back tears and continued singing. Suddenly, it began to rain. Not water, mind you; more like… Light. It was raining stars.

A gift from Melina. I just knew it.

Goodbye, Melina. I'll see you someday, somewhere. But until then, I'll always remember you.

I watched, as the last bulb on the detragon went out
