New Year's Eve Preparations
Summary: Just a little something I thought up while watching the ball drop. Akito/Shigure fluff, spoiler warning! Akito wants to hold a party to bring in the new year, but no one can come! Slightly OOC…
"Sorry, I have plans." "Can't, I'm going to a party." "I'm staying home." "I have to work." "I'm taking classes."
All of those are replies to my invitations to a party that is going to be on New Year's Eve. They were all from my relatives, and as it seems, nobody could make it. I sighed and dialed the last number on my list and waited for it to ring.
Ring…Ring…Ring…Click
"Hello?" Shigure's voice rang out in my ear.
"Hello, Shigure. This New Year's Eve, I am planning to hold a party. Would you like to join us?"
"Who else is coming, Akito?" Yes, I am the infamous Akito, head of the Souma family, raised as a boy, even though I am a girl.
"Um, Kureno, Arisa, Tohru, Kyou, and if you say yes, then you."
"Sure! I'll go, what time do you want me to show up at the main house? I could help you set up if you want." Leave it to Shigure to offer help to a women in need. He is such a player.
"The party starts at six, so if you could come over around four-thirty or so, that would be good."
"Okay! I'll see you then!"
"Bye." Click… buuuuuuuzzzzzzz… (A/N-the buzz signifies a dialtone.) 'Yes,' I thought, 'my party is a reality! Now to start planning…'
The next day…
I had just finished planning the decorations and was about to call Shigure to go buy them when the phone rang.
Ring….ring…
I picked up the phone. "Hello?" 'Who's calling?' I wondered.
My question was quickly answered. "Akito? It's Kureno. Arisa1, my girlfriend, is sick, so we won't be able to make it tomorrow. Maybe some other time!"
"Yeah…okay. Tell Arisa that I said 'Get well.' Hope you can make it next time. Good bye."
"Bye." Click… buuuuuuuzzzzzzz… (A/N- same as above)
'Damn, now only three people can make it.' I thought. I turned around and grabbed my pillow, proceeding to scream into it repeatedly. "Why?! WHY DON'T THEY LOVE ME?! What happened to our BOND?!" I screeched, thrashing around on my bed.
Suddenly, I felt warm arms wrapping around my waist and lifting me, spinning me around. I clutched the pillow to my chest and looked up.
"I see we aren't in our best of moods today, are we, Akito?" Shigure asked. "Now, why don't you tell me what's making you mad."
For a moment, I simply stared at him. I opened my mouth, and began to explain how lonely and abandoned I was feeling since the curse had been broken. (A/N- I wrote this before I finished the series, so I'm not sure when this happens, so let's pretend it was fairly recent, m'kay?^^) I told him how lately, everyone was leaving me or never visiting. Eventually, I broke down crying, clinging to his shirt. "Don't ever leave me, okay?" I whispered.
Shigure bent down and kissed me. "Never," he murmured into my ear. He stayed with me, holding me, until I fell asleep.
I said one thing before I dropped off.
"I love you."
