Kageyama spends too much of his time in between classes stuck in his own head, daydreaming about anything to keep himself occupied. School expects a lot from Kageyama, and all too often, he finds his head swimming with information that doesn't make much sense. Trying to decipher what was being taught overwhelmed him more often than not; it was actually quite nice to have some time on his own to clear his head.

And then there's Hinata, that adorable jerk, who always seems to find Kageyama no matter where he manages to hide. Hinata catches Kageyama off guard by slithering into the crook of Kageyama's arm, nuzzling into the side of his chest like a cat, grinning like a huge weirdo.

"What are you doing?" Kageyama asks in a monotone, and even he's not sure if he should be surprised or happy at Hinata's random burst of affection. His hands flailed at his sides, not sure how to deal with the extra body at his side.

"Saying hi! You looked lonely," Hinata chirps in response, and him cuddling closer felt right; Hinata did this often and yet, Kageyama never expected it but he always somehow manages to enjoy the sensation of a warm body next to him. Kageyama takes a deep breath to steady himself, because Hinata isn't predictable. He places his left arm around Hinata's waist, bringing him into a hug. They've been dating for a little over a month, and it still feels weird referring to his middle blocker as his boyfriend and not solely his middle blocker.

"I'm not lonely for your information," Kageyama murmurs into Hinata's endless orange curls. Hinata grins, placing his right arm atop Kageyama's hips to feel closer. Hinata can't help but draw shapes on Kageyama's lower back underneath his shirt, and a look of confused arousal sits on Kageyama's face. Hinata giggles, knowing that, deep down, Kageyama enjoys the attention even if he never would admit it out loud around Hinata.

"Whatever you say!" Hinata chirps and stands on his tip-toes to kiss Kageyama on the lips, but misses and lands on his sharp jawline. Kageyama blushes, squeezing Hinata's hand with a mixture of anxiety and what could only be described as affection.

"Are you flustered?" Hinata asks, feigning shock. Hinata, unlike Kageyama, didn't struggle to show off his affection for Kageyama. At any free moment, Hinata makes sure to make some physical gesture to prove his affection. However, as unfortunate as it is, Kageyama only returns the gesture if Hinata pushes for it, which is a pity because Kageyama is a great hugger and an even better kisser. Kageyama is more of a person of action, proving his love by doing things rather than touching.

Kageyama doesn't usually bring himself to face Hinata at the question. Instead, he blushes even deeper, and it's adorable on him. Hinata kisses him on the cheek, and Kageyama visibly relaxes.

"You're so easy to rile up," Hinata says.

"Am not!" It comes off as a growl from Kageyama's mouth. Then again, most words out of his mouth sound like a snarl.

"Fine. Prove it!"

"...How?" The response comes off as defeated, but Hinata knows that his love of competition overrides all.

"Kiss me." It's a simple demand, and yet, Kageyama's face contorted into a look of utter deflated uncertainty.

"Kiss you?" Kageyama repeats, as if the words are foreign in his mouth.

"Yeah! Like you mean it." Kageyama pressed a quick peck on Hinata's forehead. Kageyama looks proud of himself, and that face of joy is too sweet.

"That was lame," Hinata sing songed, and people walking down the hallway are staring. Kageyama sighs, and he presses a passionate, intense kiss a kiss to Hinata's lips, curling his fingers in Hinata's hair.

Hinata gasps when they break apart, uncharacteristically speechless.

"How was that?" Kageyama asks, puffing his chest out in pride.

"Amazing! You should kiss like that more often."

"You're on."
