Long rushing fields. Shimmering with a green so bright it lights my eyes. The sky is ablaze with a flaming red that makes me feel as if I am basking in a lake of warmth. It's so cool. A soft breeze passes over me as the star ships descend onto the landing pad.
For a brief moment, I wonder what it would be like to fly. I want to fly. Above the sands and the wind, beyond space and time. Soaring.
"Hathor!"
I sigh. It never lasts long. This feeling of freedom. Never long. My guardian sees to that. She's not my mother. But she likes to pretend she is.
"Come inside child," Ashari commands.
Her long hair is as white as snow, her eyes the colour of ice and her skin shines with the porcelain beauty of all people on Naboo.
"Yes Mother."
She glances around for a while, inspecting the windows and making sure the door is secure.
Nine hours. We never have any opening when it is dark. Ashari says it's to protect against wild animals. But I know better. You don't sleep with a blaster to protect against wild animals.
We eat a light supper of Star Blue fish and Ganji fruit. Then I go to our room with Ashari and she slides the bolt across the door.
